Plaque on heater says that this particular radiant parlor stove was made by The Sunbrite Manufacturing Co. in Mansfield. Ohio 1910. Has all original ceramic fire bricks(lattice design) in place and intact. Copper tubing and wonderfully detailed metal work. This piece is very heavy, so buyer is responsible for shipping costs. Its an early model radiant gas heater from the first company that decided a fires flame doesn't have to burn up but can burn from every direction. It has a very cool industrial primitive look. This is an antique gas wall insert heater that I took out of my house. Sorry the pics are not to clear. The plate on front says its Cheerful Radiant Heater made by Quad Company in Pittsburgh Pa. There is still one other unit left in another bathroom of mine. When I bought the house 2 years ago. A gas company employee lit the unit to see if it was active and it seemed to work. However, we have never used it and pulled it out of the wall during a remodel. It seems to be in good shape. Our home was built in 1930. This is an antique gas radiant wall heater. All original parts, removed from a project house in South Gate CA, built in 1928. It appears to be a cast copper grill with a nice petina. At the time of salvage, it was still connected to the house gas and was operational. Its ceramic radiant panels are in tact with no visible chips or cracks. Antique Vintage Natural Gas Radiant A.F. Thompson Space Room Heater
Vintage A.F. Thompson Gas Radiant space Room Heater. I believe this is for natural gas. There are pictures at the bottom of the listing of the orifice. The base is 17 3/8" long by 9½" wide and 6½" high. The top section is 15" x 9¾" x 3½" with the overall height approx. 16" The firebricks are 8¼" x 2½" x 1 7/8" at the base and are in good shape. It has a little crackling on the top. There is a little rust and discoloration. The valve works and the burners are open. I have no way of testing this and it will sell AS IS. This will ship USP. PORCELAIN c.1900 WELSBACH KERN MINIATURE RADIANT NOUVEAU CAST IRON GAS STOVE
Offered for sale is a Welsbach Kern miniature dark green porcelain over cast iron gas radiant heater stove circa 1900. The porcelain has a crown top in front and tendrils of flowers on each side. The legs are slightly flared and ribbed and have a"cathedral window" shape. These radiant heater gas stoves were used in small areas and a kettle could be placed at the top for heating Or t humidify the air. This stove is 12-3/4" tall and 8-1/4" wide(not including the gas pipe) The"face" of the stove is cream colored porcelain or ceramic in a brick work pattern. The cream ceramic has chips. Discoloration and crazing from use(see photos) There are 2 brass knobs on the front of the stove which possibly held a grate(not available) although we are not certain that it had a grate. The reverse is flat back and shows signs ... moreof use(see photos) There are some minor chips in the green enamel around the legs and one near the front(see photos) there is some rust and carbon in areas which had heat, otherwise, it is in good condition. The stove has"KERN" on the front. On the back is"Welsbach" and the registry number 365450(in 2 places) +"No. 0.19" The original piping is attached; however. The handle does not turn. We do not know if the stove works and do not believe it should be hooked up without a professional assessment. There are no guarantees or warranties on the mechanical aspects of this stove. This piece is unusual and seldom seen on the market. Please note that this piece is heavy and will require extra postage. Payments must be received within 5 days of close of auction.
