A piece of ornate cast iron for a Garland wood stove/ range. Not sure of the original purpose. The part is apr. 7 1/2 inches in diameter and apr. 9 inches long including the part that hooks in to the stove. It is apr. 3/4 inch thick. There is loss and wear to the plated finish along with an area of pitting which is shown in a closeup. We did not notice any damage. Cracks, chips, etc. The pictures should show the rest. This is a rare antique solid cast iron wood or coal base burner parlor stove called"Art Garland" No 33. It was made by Michigan Stove Co. Detroit, Chicago, Buffalo, New York City. It is in beautiful restored condition and is ready to use. This stove has a solid cast iron body with doors on the sides as well as the front with all new high quality rainbow mica windows for a total of 110 for viewing the fire. There is a swing top with the original small knob on it for lifting and swinging it to the side(the small knob, very solid, has two small splits) the only very small flaw in this stove. There are no breaks, welds or repairs. It has a rear cook plate and has the original elbow for flue with a very decorative cap on it. There is a large green tile in great condition very clean no breaks in the center of the stove and 6 medallions ... more23karat gold plated. There are also 16 original daisy nuts 23 karat gold plated also. There are all brass hinge pins and all new nickel plate. This stove has the original coal chute if you prefer to use coal and the grates are in excellent condition. The finial is very decorative brass with bronze wings. It comes with three original tools that say Garland a poker, shaker handle and a plate lifter. The inside of the stove was left seasoned for burning and has minimal paint. But I suspect the other 3 knobs are old replacements anyhow. Replacement knobs are available. I also accidentally tore the electrical cord off while unloading it. Michigan Stove Co dated 1892 Garland Jr Cast Iron stove salesmans sample / toy
Offered here without reserve is this dated 1892 cast iron Garland Range Jr made by the Michigan Stove Co. This is a sizable piece: Assembled she measures 20" wide. 11" deep and 15" high. And she comes with three cooking pans and a pot. The main body of the stove sets on the cast iron frame as my 2nd picture shows. The oven has its original grill pieces(see my 7th picture) and all doors are in perfect working order. There are however tree basic apologies- two minor and one more important. First, as pictures 6 and 9 show, there's a small chip out of the base at one corner and, second, as picture 10 shows there's a small chip out of one corner of the removable cooking plate to the right side of the stove. Picture 11 shows the more serious apology- the back edge of the left-hand side shelf has broken off- not obtrusive ... moresince it is the backside, but the damage is there. Beyond all of this(with the possible exception of one missing circular removable cooking plate(see my 8th picture) she's in excellent condition. Keep in mind that this is a large"miniature" stove, and when shipped I will disassemble as much as possible- removing if I can the chimney section. So some reassembly will be required. I have estimated shipping at $60 since I will want to ship in two separate boxes with the main body of the stove double boxed and shipped separately. However, if this is an over-estimate, I will refund the difference.
