Furnaces for making candy and related items published by the McDowell Oven Company of Boston. This catalog is an oblong format of 12 pages plus the pink printed covers measuring about 6.75" x 5.75" The catalog is not dated but prints some testimonial letters dating between 1896 and 1900 and appears to be circa 1900 or so. This catalog is nicely illustrated with several engravings and features the McDowell Oven which was a commercial oven for hotels and restaurants that came in four sizes ranging from 46 to 84 inches in length. This catalog also features the McDowell Candy Furnace and the Jackson Gas Burner and Furnace for boiling candy as well as the Brown Bread Steamer and a Pyrometer. Here is a vintage Duo Therm Oil Burning Stove. Marked on tag" Motor Wheel Corp. Lansing Mi Model 575-9" Has pat# 2313554 and others which could be useful in dating it. Great for use as a vintage decoration. Very ornate grill surround. Directly from the estate of the original owner. Was working when replaced but I did not ask how long ago that was. Whether or not it could be used or restored for use is your decision. This is a mid sized heater. It is about 34 inches tall. 17 inches wide and 21 inches deep. All 4 feet and the rear leg are present and good. Fuel tank is good and reasonably clean. There is a shallow indentation on one side(photo#6) The top has some indentations(photo#7) It has a glass fire viewing door and this door needs the latch repaired. Outer fire door is fine. Other than that I do not see any missing parts, serious ... moredamage, nor repairs. Light rust and aging as would be expected for this old of an item. Overall nice vintage condition. The embossed letters on this metal sign read. THE JOHNSON SYSTEM AUTOMATIC REGULATION etc. This plate measures 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" and is approx 1/8" thick. I believe the sign is made of bronze and nickel plated. I can view small areas where the nickel plating has worn through to the bronze color. I am guessing this piece was once installed on a large heating system or furnace.

This auction is for a Vintage Fuller Warren Co. Milwaukee. Wisconsin Plate with no reserve. The plate shows wear, is 4 3/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide and can be seen in the picture below. I think this is a chain plate for the damper on the furnace. I found this mounted on a hallway door in an old house. It was not hooked up anymore. I think the plate had chains to open and close a damper door downstairs to the furnace, to make more or less heat in the home. I am not sure. The surface is very rusty so you can hardly see the original surface, but the wonderful embossed lettering still stands out dramatically. The rusty patina is super attractive and I have left it as it was found. There is a portion of the slate lining still hanging on as can be seen in the photo of the back view. The shape of the door is a trapezoid with the top width being 11-3/4" while the bottom width is 12-3/4" Height is 11" x 1-1/2" thickness at the widest part of the angled back brace and it weighs 9 pounds 14 ounces. Early 19th CENTURY JUNIATA FURNACE STOVE PERRY COUNTY, PA.
Early 19th century stove made in Perry County. Pa. at Juniata Furnace. This furnace was in business from the late 18th century and closed by 1850. I believe it is a park today with some of the old buildings still standing. This small size stove 281/2" tall x 25" long x 11" wide is in excellent condition and well preserved. It's hard to find a stove this early with all of it's doors intact and in this condition. Most stoves are missing one or all of the doors as they perished easily. The only thing missing from this stove is the front clean out cover plate. The stove is solid with no holes or cracks. Someone has used modern nuts to secure the side oven doors to the hinges. The legs are in excellent condition. Nice example of an early Juniata Furnace Perry County, Pa. stove. Pickup at my location would be great. ATLANTA STOVE WORKS"HUNTSMAN" Catalytic Model#4060(new in 1981) +HEAT BLOWER G-VG- not used in 11 years- used by previous owners in unfinished basement- stored dry. Clean and with EXTRA; Miracle Heat Blower(new in 1986) tested; motor works. Everything inspected, wiped down and pics taken of EVERYTHING! 12 pics here just ask for any others! LOCAL PICKUP just off of Interstate 80 and near Interstate 39 in Northern Illinois. All local town roads in nice neighborhood! This HEAVY cast iron furnace/heater was included with our house in the unfinished basement when we bought in 2003. Our insurance agent required extra coverage for it. So I had to seal off the chimney at the ceiling and move it away from the chimney area. It has been in the main furnace room in the basement ever since. It has occasionally been wiped down with a polished ... morerag and inspected. Also attached was a Miracle Heat"blower" with a specially installed outlet high in the wall to accommodate the AC plug) This unit has been stored with the stove. It is time to sell both of these items and my son and I moved the stove to our lower deck outdoors for sunny pictures and to allow two(fortunately) very windy days to blow out alot of the dust and ash etc. see inside pics of stove) IT HAS NOW BEEN MOVED UP TO OUR GARAGE FOR EASY LOCAL PICK-UP! Gasoline, white gas or maybe kerosene- not sure the fuel it used. It was full of fuel when I bought it and it smelled like gas. I assume it was in working condition since it had so much fuel in it, but I dumped the fuel and did not test it(I don't know enough to possibly blow up) It has some rope like material inside but could not get a picture of it. The inside looks silver or like plain metal-very hard to get a picture of but see below as I did get a little to show. Now that its dry inside, there are some tiny pieces of rust rattling around inside. Outside has lots of rust but I believe most is surface rust and the fuel drum seems very solid. Sticker ... moreis still readable but very bad. I beleive it says"Dunlap Approved Tools" Not sure if it's missing any parts. Comes with two pots and a pan or guard that goes around the top.
