This is a nice old group of 4 cast iron wood or coal burner grates. They are 3 3/4" tall. The back is 2" wide, front is 1 1/2" wide at the top and about 1 1/4" wide at the bottom. Several of these form a circle in the burner area, they are in great shape, no chips or cracks. This looks good. Items as pictured. I have other vintage items. For Sale is a stove grate shaker handle. Used for coal or wood stove. The handle looks to have the following numbers/letters on it, MAJESTIC RANGES" Some of the letters are on real clear on the handle in the pictures because I think the paint is a little thicker in places and makes the letters a little hard to see. The length of the insides of the square ends look to be about 5/8 inch or a little less each of the four ways on the square and the circles on the square end each look to be about about 1/2 inch in diameter. This Stove was once is magnificent condition. I cooked a vast array of home cooked meals and some of the best baked breads in this stove. It is a light green and cream colored enamel and cast iron stove. I believe it is of the late 1800's but not certain. This stove is a restoration project. It has some missing parts. Rust and chipped enamel and is dirty It was once a glorious stove and well worth the time and expense to fix It was unbeknown to me put outside and has been exposed to weather However it is a great nostalgic piece and can be either restored or simply cleaned and used for décor I have previously used"Stove Black" on the cast iron which makes it look brand new and can be obtained at some hardware stores or online. The legs are all intact and two of them are loose and the other two are secure. There is no top lid that you would use to cook on top. Offered is a cast iron stove eye lifter and shaker wrench tool. These were used to lift the eyes. Or lids on old cook and heating stoves. This piece is unmarked beyond"446, so I am unable to connect it with a particular maker or era. It is obviously an older piece. It's a particularly robustly made piece with a smallish lifting lug. The lifter is about 8-1/2 inches long and weighs about 11 ounces. I can't find the slightest damage beyond light use marks and some surface roughness. Likely from the original casting. It has a smaller half-moon shaped lifting lug, measuring about 1/2 by 1/8 inch. These can sometimes be ground a bit to fit a particular eye. It has one of those odd shaker wrench tools opposite the lifting lug, and there is a bit of casting sprue remaining in it. This part of the tool may also be for adjusting interior ... morevents, particularly in cookstove ovens. I've posted lots of pictures so you can look it over. From bottom all the way to top of ornamental piece stands about 42 inches. Base width is about 25 on bottom. Inside of stove is about 18 inches across. Inside of stove is about 12 inches front to back. Does have the adjustable temperature vent on front. Only thing wrong with it is the removable fire guard inside stove has cracks. see pics. Circa 1930 Barstow White Porcelain Cast Iron Cook Stove. Made by the Barstow Stove Company of Providence, RI It appears to have been converted early to a kerosene stove(or it may have shipped as a kerosene stove) but can be converted back to a wood stove by removing the burners and relining the firebox. Here is a rarely found old stove lid that is made in two pieces so that your pot bottom will not get too hot. Cast into it is the description"Raise register and cereal will never burn" The out piece is 9" wide and the inner piece is 6 3/8" As you can see. It has been carefully buffed to remove loose rust and dirt. There are no cracks or chips but there is some stippling from old rust. RARE UNIQUE 2-TONE BLUE COOK STOVE wood burning enameled cast iron water tank
Unique antique wood burning cook stove with hot water reservoir and overhead warming ovens. Two-tone blue enamel. Made by Montgomery Wards. Pioneer-Windsor P85R. I believe it is from 1920-1930’s era. I could not find another one like it from my searches on the web. Great working condition. We used it to heat the porch/kitchen for several years. Piece of door to wood/ash pan has broken off in the upper left corner and has a crack on the bottom. Top plate also has a crack near front(see pictures) 7/28/2014: added pictures of inside the firebox and the grates that go inside the firebox. Note one of the grates is burned out on the bottom edge.
