This is a great addition to your collection. Old antique cast iron stove top sad iron heater plate. Marked underneath pat. apl'd for and numeral 9. No breaks or cracks. Nice smooth top surface. It is designed to sit on top of a cast iron cook stove. The heater sets on three small legs. As the heat from the cook stove rises it hits the fins on the bottom of the heater and this circulates the heat to the surface of the sad iron heater top. This is a superb little Art Nouveau style log burner by the famous French company Mirus. It dates from sometime in the 1920's. It has been used as you will see from the photos. It looks like the door was chrome plated. Most of the chrome plating is gone, just a little left on some of the edges. The latch is broke/missing. There are spots, stains and a chip in the enamel finish on the front plate. I pack my postcards between 2 pieces of cardboard. This auction is for a Vintage Fuller Warren Co. Milwaukee. Wisconsin Plate with no reserve. The plate shows wear, is 4 3/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide and can be seen in the picture below. I think this is a chain plate for the damper on the furnace. I found this mounted on a hallway door in an old house. It was not hooked up anymore. I think the plate had chains to open and close a damper door downstairs to the furnace, to make more or less heat in the home. I am not sure. This great old cast iron stove name plate came from an estate collection. It is 8 by 10 and weighs a hefty 2 pounds. The front is embossed: TENNESSEE STOVE WORKS CHATTANOOGA TENN. Tennessee stove works was a very famous stove maker in it's day. It is rusty from age but is in nice condition with no chips or dings. I have not tried to clean it. It's in the condition I received it. One interesting thing about this old plate is that the word CHATTANOOGA has the N backwards making it even more rare and interesting.
