I believe this item is Cast Iron and it has alot of surface rust. item is pre-owned. But not pre-certified, no warranty expressed or implied. selling"AS IS" NO charge for pick ups of any of my items! This auction is for a Vintage Fuller Warren Co. Milwaukee. Wisconsin Plate with no reserve. The plate shows wear, is 4 3/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide and can be seen in the picture below. I think this is a chain plate for the damper on the furnace. I found this mounted on a hallway door in an old house. It was not hooked up anymore. I think the plate had chains to open and close a damper door downstairs to the furnace, to make more or less heat in the home. I am not sure. Additionally, it features a"good luck" swastika symbol, a trademark of authentic antiques! This is a great looking cast iron square furnace boiler door. Was made by the Payne Furnace& Supply Co. Age is not known. But guessed at around 1920's. This was removed from our house when they refurbished the furnace. Our house was built in 1927. This would be fantastic item to display or as a mail slot. Measures 8.5" long x 8" wide. There is some rusting. But appears to be in great shape, original black has not been painted over.

This tool is used to rattle the grates in cast iron wood stoves or coal furnaces to shake/sift the ashes to the bottom for collection and removal from the stove. Leaving the larger pieces of charcoal behind to be burned. This particular handle was found in the basement of an old hardware store. I don't believe it was used. when I acquired it. It had a cotton string with a paper tag on it, and was very dusty. I wiped it down with mineral oil. The only stamping is"10" as seen in the photo. The square end is tapered to fit assorted size grates. It appears to have a silvery finish which is flaking off. Approximate overall footprint length is 9.5" From clean. Non-smoking location. VERY RARE PATENT 1881 ABRAM COX STOVE COMPANY HEAVY CAST IRON SALESMAN SAMPLE NOVELTY FURNACE NO. 20 This is a very rare old salesman sample piece that dates to the late 1800's and advertises for the Abram Cox Stove Company. This is a small heavy cast iron and steel salesman sample of the Novelty Furnace No. 20 Model coal stove from Abram Cox Stove Co. The front of the stove has embossed writing on it and working opening doors. The front has patent dates of May 26. 1874 and June 5, 1881. The top opening door reads, Novelty No. 20 Furnace" on it. Below that is the"Abram Cox Stove Co. name and it shows that they were out of New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Chicago. The second opening door reads, Clinker Door" on it. The bottom door reads, To Increase Draft Open This Door 25000 Novelty Heaters in Use" on it. The sides ... morelook to have a cut-out design to show the inside detail of the stove.
