This is a superb little Art Nouveau style log burner by the famous French company Mirus. It dates from sometime in the 1920's. It has been used as you will see from the photos. The enamel has quite a few marks/areas where it has come off(see pictures) however this has not detracted from it's look because it is an antique. Which has been useful. It is green in color. Based on the Circa of these stoves listed below, I would speculate that Floyd and Wells manufactured the Athens model between 1930& 1940. Pennsylvania-based manufacturer Floyd. Wells& Co. produced this stove under their brand name Athens. They also made a host of ranges under the Irving brand—the Irving, Grand Irving, Loyal Irving, Prize Irving, True Irving, Rose Irving, and on and on—as well as ranges with names like Justice, Fidelity, Athens and Progress…Research provided no Most Victorian-era stoves were made from cast iron and designed to burn wood. This Stove was once is magnificent condition. I cooked a vast array of home cooked meals and some of the best baked breads in this stove. It is a light green and cream colored enamel and cast iron stove. I believe it is of the late 1800's but not certain. This stove is a restoration project. It has some missing parts. It was minted in San Franscisco between 1890 and 1910, moved to Virginia City, Nevada, Silver Mines, then moved to Lake Tahoe, then sold in an Estate Sale to me. The sale was at the same time of the Lorne Green Bonanza Estate sale in spring of 2013 but the procurer was not certain if it came from the Lorne Green holdings. It is spectacular and cared for, definitely someone of influence and affluence. Normally these are about 30" wide. Due to the vent with cast scroll work at left it is 38.5" wide or 47" wide to edge of removable pan leaf on right(and the round pot holders extend it another 6" to right) 30" tall ... moreto burner level. 57.5" tall to top of back panel. 30" deep from back to front oven handle. I love wood burning stoves and this is by far the most prestigious stove Ive ever seen. Nickle is in excellent shape. Stove itself is also in excellent shape. 2 Original Antique Cast Iron Majestic Wood Burning Stove Shelves With Brackets I have to tell you about the auction that I went to this week. It was in Geneva Illinois. In a sandstone building that was built before the Civil War. The sale was the final liquidation of an antique store(they‘d had one previous auction- so much stuff, they had to have two) that used to operate out of this location- but the building has been closed, as well as the business, for over 20 years following the passing of the previous owners. Now, we’re talking two stories, an attic and a basement PACKED with antiques- it’s hard to imagine, and all of it just sitting for two decades. These folks had amassed a huge antique collection- many many items dating back to the early 1800s and before. There’s some gorgeous pieces of primitive Americana that I found. I can’t tell ... moreyou how excited I am to be listing my treasures from the sale. I will be listing them for weeks to come. I also have the last of my farm auctions and South Dakota finds listed this week, so there’s something for everyone! I have to apologize for my hard to figure out photos of these two old stove shelves. All 4 pieces are wired together in order to keep from separating. And I couldn't unwind them without a pair of gloves or at least a tinsnip! What I have(whether or not you could tell! is a pair of original Majestic brand wood stove shelves. Dating to the late 1800s, early 1900s, both of these shelves would have been mounted inside of the brackets that you see with them on the back wall of the stove. The brackets would have been at the base of the shelves, and the shelves folded up flush against the back of the stove for when not in use. You can see that each shelf has a pin on either side that fits into the openings on the brakcets. The brackets then each have two holes for mounting on the wall of the stove. This piece has a great look and I believe for the most part is complete other than oven rack. This stove is clearly dated september of 1910(see picture) The exact measurements are 61" tall. 36" wide and 27" in depth. There is heavy rust on inside and not so much on outside, and a small crack on one of the small front plates, but piece is not missing and can be welded(see picture) but not so bad for being 113 years old. Rare Antique Cast Iron Wood Burning Stove and Heater
You are bidding on an Antique Cast Iron Stove. This is truly a great piece and beautiful to look at. As you can see in the pics. I have burned some wood inside this to make sure it works as good as it did in its prime. I am selling this as an antique, and I have not made any modifications to it since I have had it. I do notice that on the"wings" that there have been screws replaced and on the silver faceplate, but does not affect the look of it. As you can see, the top does remove and the bottom does unscrew, however, time has taken a toll on some of the pieces. The center piece that looks like a spring door needs to be re-welded or brazed to the frame again. The base has also suffered a stress crack and a few fracture lines which will also need to be mended. Overall though, this stands roughly 4+ feet and is beautiful. The stove has 2 openings on top- the crown lifts up to a small opening and also the whole top lifts up by the handle in the front. There are 2 small doors in the front that open as well. Antique Orbon Stove Co. 17"Marvel" cast iron wood burning stove. This wonderful old stove is 26" high by 16" wide by 11" deep. The crack has been professionally repaired. All original parts include internal grates and catch pan. Swivel out one burner plate top. The stove weighs 95 lbs. and disassembled can be shipped in 4 boxes weighing approx. 30 lbs apiece(costing approximately $130) I do not ship Internationally. Local buyers could make arrangements to pick it up. My father in law had this in his cabin in Northern AZ. for many years. It has been in storage since his passing in'96. 24" high. 21" long cast iron wood or coal burning parlor stove manufactured by the Jas. Graham Mfg. Co. Of San Francisco and Newark, Ca. The number 526 is embossed on the stove top. My research indicates these types of stoves were manufactured between 1915 to 1920. This stove has been outside so the black exterior shows signs of age and weather. There is minor rust. It might clean up a little. This item is available for local pick up in San Jose, California only.
