Antique Stove Door & Frame Scalloped Design 1824 Primitive Wall Decor
This is the door to a stove from the 1800's. It is rusted out which adds to the charm and says embossed on the door"Scalloped" which is definitely the design. It also has a year that I believe is 1824 but it might be 1874; it is very hard to make out the third number. This is the only one of its kind. The complete stove collapsed years ago according to the previous owner. All that is left is the door and the base. I do have the base which I can add to the order for additional shipping charge-let me know. Door does open and close. Has the original knob. This will look great in a country kitchen. A restaurant or bar, rec room or anyplace. It is best suited to hang on a wall but can be re-purposed for many different functions. It would also work in a shadowbox. KEELEY CAST IRON ASH SHAKER HANDLE This old cast iron KEELEY ash shaker stove handle would have been fastened onto a coal stove and used to"shake" the grate causing the ashes and cinders to fall down from the firebox into the ash pan. The grate would be shaken in short vigorous strokes that moved the grates back-and-forth allowing the ashes to fall through. To keep a good fire burning. It was important to shake enough of the ashes to allow the proper amount of air flow up through the coal. This old handle has a 1.25 inch hexagonal opening and a nicely shaped pierced handle. Overall space width of the handle is 6.5 inches and it has a 9 inch arm extension. Some slight surface rust inside the hex opening. But still a good solid and functional tool. For sale is a rare& very old& primitive antique kitchen& cooking utensil tool. It was designed for several chores around the hearth including lifting the lids off of wood& coal stoves& also has a curved hook like design for lifting the bails of hot kettles& cook pots, also has a opening above the stove lift tongue to hook on the side of a kettle or pot& tilt the pot too. also has a small"hammer" head underneath the stove lift for driving tacks& small nails around the house. it does have a large series of holes all thru the handle, designed to help keep it from getting too hot on the stove or at the kettle. a lot of these old primitive kitchen tools have a long gone broken off end or hook on them, this 1 has no damage anywhere. it is made of cast iron, it has the"gate-marks" on the side showing ... morewere it was cast in a mold, the ruler tells the size, I haven't cleaned it as some people like the old surface patina, it does have the surface oxidation as shown but no pitting or damage. would clean right up to clean cast metal if desired. a very unique tool made way back around turn of the 19th-20th century when making crazy designs for multiple task uses around the kitchen was in style. please see my other listings for 2 other early primitive iron kitchen multi use tools, can combine shipping on multiple items if you want a of them. please email with any questions before bidding as all sales are final. This bottle is in amazing condition with no chips or cracks and all hardware intact. The metal dripper, bail and handle do have some rust typical with age, but are still firmly attached and look great. The dripper easily screws on and off the bottle, and is in great condition; the spring mechanism functions as well. The bottom of the bottle is beautifully embossed- we do not often come across bottles like this one! From our research we discovered that this bottle was made by the Owens-Illinois glass company. We are unsure of the year it was produced, though we have narrowed it down to be between 1929 and 1957. The number 7 on the bottom(to the left of the diamond) signifies that ... morethis bottle was made in Alton, Illinois.
