This is a very nice antique cast iron stove made by the S.H. Ransom Co. of Albany NY. It measures aprox. 27" high x 25" wide across the front. 22" wide across the back and is 20" deep. The flue pipe size would be 5" It is in very good condition, we could find no breaks or repairs, it is just a little dusty from being in storage. It is available for pickup or can be delivered as far south as the Delaware Memorial Bridge/ Philadelphia area. Please e-mail for cost and availability. Legs" are fancier on one side of each firedog than the other, the fancier legs have tabs in the tips which would have fit into something. On the underside there are the numbers 18 and 99. Firedogs are in good structural condition but are very rusty. There are bits of old chrome plating? that show a bit on one.

It was pulled out of some dirt so it is a little dirty and has some wear to the front where it was in the dirt. Very cool old piece. Up-scale butcher's stove with kettle. Beautiful ornate cast iron kettle housing has heads of cattle and ears of corn adorning it. This housing is in generally good condition but does have some small cracks along the seams. The firebox is in poor condition- it has burned through and has some pieces broken off. The kettle shows considerable wear but has no damage. Lid is galvanized steel. The kettle is embossed with"WARRANTED 31 GAL. The stove door reads"KENWOOD THE WEHRLE CO. NEWARK O. Top, and feet front lighting door with lift arm internal gas burner tube with pipettes six rolled steel heating tubes six decorative 2-jewel plates containing faceted. Red, green, and blue glass inserts The name“Superior” can be seen on the lighting door. The door opens easily by moving the lift arm at the right end of the heater. In photo#2 the door is open. The burner bar is threaded on one end and capped on the other. The top row of glass inserts is red. The one on the right end is chipped and cracked. The inserts in the bottom row are blue. Except for the 2 nd one from the right. Which is green. As you can see, there is surface rust, but all parts are solid. In the last two photos. Green arrows point to two damaged areas. This is(I think? a Cast Iron Flue Cover. I can't imagine what else it could be if not a flue cover? It is 8 3/8ths inches across and is slightly bowled- about one inch. It is Very Ornate with very intricate cut out areas and lots of embossed detail on the ironwork also. The detail is just as detailed on the back as it is on the front. It has a very stiff sturdy wire hang loop and has raised initials SHW of the maker( Not sure what it is. But the possibilities are endless! I could see it wired on an entrance gate or in the garden, or just hang it on the wall. Very Cool piece! It weighs 1 pound 5 ounces without a box. No cracks or breaks anywhere.

Antique H.P. Numbered Gas Heater - Cast Iron and Ornate Sheet Steel w/ Cut Outs
Offered for auction is this beautiful repainted Victorian Cast Iron and Sheet Steel Parlor Room Gas Heater. The stove base outside identifies it as a H.P. stove. We have not been able to find out anything about this manufacturer. There is the number A 673 on the underside of the silver top which is removeable. And A 674 on the underside of the base. These silver parts look to have been sandblasted clean and repainted with the silver finsh. The ornate sheet steel center has also so been redone in flat black high intensity paint. The 3 legs are flared and the silver base and the removeable silver top all feature intricate scroll work. The stove base measures 11" from one of the three feet to the next foot does not include the measurement of the gas fitting and on/off lever It measures 21" tall. For a built in humidifier on coal or wood stoves. It is nickeled plated over cast iron. With a heavy Tin knob type finial that appears to be brass plated. Most of the plating has worn off the piece, however it developed a nice aged patina to it, with some light surface rust. The knob finial can screw off. And also did a bunch of local shopping this week– from estate to barn sales, with a favorite antique store thrown in too. Lots of early primitives, Victorian, military, ephemera– there’s something for everyone! Wow. What a gorgeous set this is. It's 4 cast iron stove legs- waiting for a new home- either stove or repurposed table legs- you can't go wrong with these beauties. They are marked on the backside, Verona PatD. and then a date that looks like 6 03. Each one measures 16 3/4" tall, 4 5/8" wide at the top and 1 3/4" wide at the beautiful claw footed bottoms. Behind the fancy scrolls of the top of the leg, there's a plate with a mounting hole and two rounded divots where I'm ... moreassuming the legs may have slid into the stove. All of the legs but one have a single mounting hole, and one has 5- see photos 20& 21. The legs are all exactly the same except for this, and the center hole of the one that has 5 is in the same spot as the single holes for the other legs. The mounting plate is about 1" from the top of the fancy front, and it measures 3 1/4" from the front corner to the outside of the plate on either side. The center hole measures 1/4" diameter. Please let me know what more you may need as far as dimensions- I'm trying to think of all you might need. I think that they would make amazing table legs. Each leg weighs just over 2 1/2 lbs, so they may be expensive to ship to some locations- please know I can ship usps only, and I'm charging you shipping only- the high cost is on the post office.
