This old. Glass, fuel jar was probably used as a reservoir to supply kerosene to a cook stove. Or maybe an antique heat stove. It has a spring loaded valve that still works perfectly- and features a metal band around the middle of the jar that held the iron bail. Or handle. CONDITION is VERY GOOD- no cracks or damage to the glass- just wear from use( circa early 1900s) The bottom exhibits some stretched glass residue. A pontil mark, from when it was originally blown. These are NOT cracks, clearly they stand out in relief, little ridges that can be seen and detected with the fingernail. The concentric rings on the bottom provides an interesting manufacturing design. All original. Payment must be received within FIVE DAYS of the end of the auction. Due to the highly unusual nature and rarity of this stove I am accepting offers. So please feel free to make a fair offer. I would really appreciate offers due to the fact that I am not actually sure of this stove's true value. This auction is for a very rare Union stove works Grand No 6 stove Comes with everything shown in the photo. This stove is simply AMAZING! I have never seen anything even close to this nice from the Union Stove Works company. Or any stove company for that matter. After much research I have discovered that this is a sad iron stove. A sad Iron is a solid iron.well iron that you would have to heat up in some manner prior to using it. That is where this stove comes in. Notice the iron rust"stains" on the top. They are from a sad iron. The top and bottom are brass. This stove was obviously a high end product ... moreback in the day. It has 18"gemstones" on the front. And it is very ornately decorated with fine details. I do not claim that they are actually precious gemstones* There is a serial# on the copper tag on the side. It is 15885. There is some obvious rust on the grate and the insides of the stove. There is also some rust on the front and back side of the stove. I am sure that this stove will need some repairs and a cleaning before it could be used again. I will leave that up to the buyer. There is a crack on the left bottom front side. It starts at the left bottom edge of the door opening and continues to the bottom edge of the stove. RARE Antique Metal Cast Iron Myers Stove Golden Star No 4 Sad Iron Heater 1882
I have searched the last 10 years of eBay data and cannot find another example of the stove. So to say it's unique is probably an understatement! It is constructed out of cast-iron with the wick and risers constructed out of a lighter metal. The front of the stove reads"Myers. Osborne& CO. NO 4 GOLDEN STAR 1882" With one side at the base reading"CHICAGO, ILL. And the other side reads"CLEVELAND, O. The dimensions are at the base it is 18" wide by 13" Tall by 14" deep. The flat iron platform is 16-1/2" wide by 10-1/4" deep. I did not see any cracks in the casting anywhere. The tin metal that goes around the top of the stove has been replaced at some point and it does have some corrosion damage along the bottom. The wick flues have also been replaced at some point with a newer tin metal. The ... morefront glass windows have been replaced with plastic so this unit has been used for display only recently. Antique Clark Jewel stove emblem plaque metal vintage 53 Cast iron Rare
Check out my!。 Nice vintage. Solid metal emblem for antique Clark Jewel stoves. There are 2 mounting holes on either side of this 6 x 1 1/2 inch plaque. There is a smaller metal piece with a"53" on it that is taped to the main piece on the back, however, when I removed this piece of tape, that extra tab does NOT appear to have broken off.
