For auction(1) lid support bracket from a Kalamazoo stove marked Lexington. Its boot shaped and stands approx 3" tall. Says"PIL 5" underneath(see pic) Was mounted to the right of the firebox. But other stoves of this type found online referenced 1925. The top comes off the base. You can also open up the stove on top and in front to access everything(this is a normal and very good thing) It is clear that solid fuel was burned in this stove last time based on the ash in the bottom part. I don't know if it was wood or coal. The firebox is fairly small. So I would think coal would be more practical, but then again, where there's a will, there's a way. The crank that would turn the parts under the firebox is missing. I would think you could find one

This Kalamazoo Wood Stove is ready to use. It has been restored and beautifully finished to original condition. Rebuilt and replated nickel trim. Unit is 60 inches tall and 29 inches in diameter. There is a small crack on the inside smoke door which does not affect the operation(not noticeable in the picture. The stove was made in Kalamazoo Michigan. The model is OAK. Up for bid is a antique Kalamazoo Kitchen Heater built between 1889 and the early 1920s in Kalamazoo. Mi. A unique aspect about this stove/ heater is that it was the first stove co. that would ship directly to the customer and bypass the retailor. Hence the logo on the casting( see photo) A Kalamazoo direct to you" The stove has been completely disassembled and restored to its original condition using all the parts and pieces it was born with. The only new parts on it are the nuts and bolts. Gasket material and the ash pan. The paint used is a special 1200 degree high temp. stove paint. Old cast iron stove in decent shape for its age. It's a Kalamazoo Stove Co. No. 250 model and was in frequent use at our camp until replaced with a more modern stove several years back. Since then it's gathered a bit of surface rust sitting our garage but looks like it could be cleaned up fairly easily. There are a several areas near the top that had lifted over time and filled with furnace cement(see photos) Ready to be restored into a nice old show piece. Local pickup only. It dates. I would guess, to the mid to late 1800s. The top piece is 8 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches wide. The separate round base is 2 1/2 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches in diameter. The finial is in very good condition with no damage or repairs. It is as found and has not been polished but it looks like it has lost some of its nickle plating on one side of the top piece. The finial was salvaged from a Kalamazoo Brilliant stove. I was also able to salvage the front door embossed with the Kalamazoo name. It is available if anyone is interested. Vintage Kalamazoo cast iron kitchen wood stove with porcelain/steel backsplash and bread warmer. Includes all necessary fittings/hardware and transition collar to 6" stove pipe. Stove has been in storage for a time so it needs a good cleaning but will take very little effort to bring it back to life. A worthwhile and rewarding restoration project for the right person.
