With the intent on installing it in his older Shelbyville home's kitchen which was undergoing a restoration. Anyway, he decided to go a different direction on the appliances, and that is when I came to own this remarkable stove. It was late 1996 when I purchased it. And the gentleman to me a story that I must pass on to you. The lady who originally bought this stove had used it daily since new, but being in her late 80's and a widow was pressured by her family to get a"new fangled" stove with autopilot features as they were concerned for her safety with a standing pilot light, and they were even going to pay for it. She refused over and over again until finally one day she said she would accept a"new" stove as long as they had"her" trusty companion"stove" installed down in the basement so that she could cook her Holiday dinner on her own stove. And so it would be! But when the kids were cleaning up the her old house for the estate sale. They noticed how clean the"new" stove was, and came to the conclusion that she had in fact not been using it at all, but going up and down the basement stairs everyday until her death. HMMMMMph? Anyway. When I purchased this in 1996, I took to the local appliance store for a"once over" cleaning, inspection, tune-up as well as having the oven controller removed and sent out to the Tulsa Stove Hospital to have it re-calibrated. I also had the top burners and grate re-porcelained by a company in Tennessee. I was having a"new" Victorian Country built, and this was installed upon moving in. Beautifully restored circa 1923 Bridge Beach. Superior Eureka gas, coal and wood stove. I replated all of the nickel and the original blue and white finish is in beautiful condition, with a few blemishes. I only cooked on the wood side once, but I've used the gas side for the last few years and it works great. The thermostat in gas oven is actually quite accurate. The wood and coal part consists of four burners and the lower oven. Then there are the frour natural gas cooking burners and the one simmer burner on the right side. Up above on the left is the gas oven which is controlled by a very accurate thermostat. On ther right is the gas broiler. It is the most furocious broiler I've ever seen. Take a look at the picture. This is a very cool old stove that was found in outdoor st orage. Hence the rust. The maker was known for manufacturing ovens and stoves. I would guess the date to be early 1900's? This is made of cast iron. And I can only guess that it was some kind of stove or grill? There is a heating element in the center and inlets for what I wou l d assume to be a gas supply. There also look s to be a center grate that's missing as well as an exterior guard that's missing. One of the g rates has a small hairline crack. 1950's Antique Classic gas Wedgewood stove
This is a 1950's Wedgewood gas stove- range. I had this stove completed refurbished several years back. Everything works great. Except for the clock and timer. I hardly use it to cook. I eat out most of the times. It has an oven and a broiler, 4 burners and a griddle. It measures 40 1/4" wide x 28" deep x 36 1/4" high(front) and 46 1/2" back) I had new insulation put in and new gas lines. The grates were dipped in black porcelain. The burners were soaked in acid to clean them out real good. All of the lights work. The stove does have some dings and blemishes as you can see in the pictures. But other than that it work great. The bottom legs span a ten-inch diameter, the lid is about 8" in diameter, and the tin canister portion is approx 6½" diameter. The wrought legs hold the heater three inches off the floor. Antique Cribben and Sexton Stove. I am second owner of this stove tho have stored it for 30 years awaiting purchase of house with a kitchen large enough to accomodate it. I have never used the stove tho cooktop was in use by original owner. Specific date of stove 1915-1918 assuming by patent stamps on various pieces. Issues are predominately with gas supply. The linkage that raises and lowers the oven burner to control oven temperature has snapped tho both cast iron pieces fit and could be welded. The linkage that extends to the front of the stove which allows gas to the oven and broiler is snapped and the front piece is missing(photo) The gas valve to the broiler is missing as is the standard black pipe supply. The firebox liners have been overheated(photo) and do not seem to fit in properly.Homestead stoves for replacements) Also missing ... moreis the firebox shaker. The cast iron vent is intact. Porcelain is good with small chip on one cooktop handle. Only two of the original cooktop grilles available. Oven grates. Broiler trays good, thermometer, and ash pan all good. Antique Parlor Stove Gas Wood Coal Nickel Trim
Antique cast iron parlor stove that apparently burned coal. Wood or ran on gas. The gas burner is gone from the inside, leaving the vent and gas pipe bracket on the right side. The interior is all there including the coal grate and ash tray. They must have used it for burning coal at one time. No rust through on outside sheet metal. The nickel plated trim is still very nice but there is a weld repair on the front foot rest rail. You can see this in one of the photos. It is a nice smooth repair but it did take the nickel off at that spot. Have never used one of these and don't know much about them. The dimensions are approx: 37" tall by 20" wide by 18" deep. The name on the front is COLGAS UNIVERSAL No. 316. The ornamental top swings away to reveal a small lift off lid to put a pot on. Probably made a bout 1900- 1920. MURRAY GAS RANGE 1950's Antique
Vintage 1950's Murray Gas Range straight out of historical New Orleans. LA. Just imagine all the pots of home cooked gumbo, jambalaya and étouffée this stove has seen. This piece of history was destine for the scrapyard. It's a cool vintage piece that caught my eye, I just couldn't let it go to waste. It seems like it could be a cool restoration project, or if you just like that old rustic patina. This is a one of a kind. Of course it's a 60 something year old range the was obviously used judging by the little bit of missing finish on top. It's also missing one of the knobs the burner grills. And as you can tell by the tape, the doors don't stay closed too willingly. All the wires seem to be in good shape as well as all the pluming.
