I believe these were made in the United Kingdom? It works and is in good/decent condition with some small handling marks and a couple of bottom edge dings. everything visible. The lid is also a snuffer to douse the flames when you are through heating a small pot or kettle. The pot/kettle supports are the folding type as seen in the photos. The lid fits tightly and will not rattle off when put on properly. The burner action is the pad type. there is no pressure. just some substance underneath a metal screen(metal screen is loose) that holds alcohol while it burns. To operate the stove. remove the top cap with sun logo cap. flip up the pot supports. ... morepour in some alcohol and light it. When finished. fold the supports down and put the lid on. It is likely that these were originally intended for travelers to heat soup or tea. and maybe in the nursery for heating babies milk. A 3/4" penny is in most of the photos for size perspective. This Star heater has been carefully brought back to its original luster. It is fully functional and all it needs is the tubular funnel section to complete it. I would not bother though. It would look better as a large chimney lamp. Just use you imagination on fitting it with possibly a 8" straight chimney with shade, or possibly a shade ring, 14" shade and large chimney for drug store hanging lamp. I do not know if these were ever sold as retail or if they were only sold to businesses. This is very similar to the Perfection line of kerosene stoves. The viewing window is made of a plastic type of material and is dented in a bit. The feet are worn/corroded around the edges but still have enough material to support the stove. An older family friend asked me to help her list this wonderful. Large antique stove in her attic. When I saw it, I was immediately reminded of all those stories I read when I was little that talked about heaters and cookstoves(A Little Princess, Little House on the Prairie, etc. I couldn't believe I was actually seeing one in person! Apologies for the"lovely" attic background. But we are two smallish women and didn't want to attempt to move the heavy piece of iron from the 3rd floor! She has had it"forever, but she and her husband are preparing to sell their enormous house and are finding good homes for their larger antiques: Height: 48" Including finial. Circumference of central pipe: 51" Circumference of base: 60" Marked"Bright Oak" on the front in ornate letters, Lovely iron work all over ... morethe piece. Quite decorative, Made in 1907- see photos. Made of cast iron and brass with an ornate finial on top. Neither of us are experts on this- we expect that any buyer will know more than us. However. It doesn't take a genius to see broken parts or cracks! This piece has none- there doesn't appear to be any damage, aside from mild rust accumulated over 100 years. As you will see from the photos, the drawer slides out, the grate is intact, and there are no cracks or broken off parts. We wiped the dusty piece down with a wet rag before photographing because it was very dusty and dirty(some parts were still wet when we took the pictures. You can see that there is a light coating of orange rust on the iron. And the brass is dull. The stove will need to be cleaned up. However, it will be*beautiful* when it is refurbished- we found a photo of almost the exact same model on this site(for $4800! We don't know too much about it. But it is cast iron, with the top pieces looking like they are brass and copper! The only identifying mark we could find is on the bottom as photographed- BS015" in the casting. The piece measures approximately 9" across the base by 11" high. And weighs approximately 2.6 lbs! It has some issues like a few dents as shown in pictures and the pedestal is coming lose from the base and needs to be soldered or welded. It is missing a wick and the knob that you turn to raise the wick. The parts at the top are not brass but iron or steal and have rusted. VINTAGE GERMAN EFFEKT ANTIQUE COOK CAMP STOVE SMALL ONE BURNER WITH BRASS TANK
Description Neat little one burner cook stove from many years ago. It has a really nifty brass fuel tank and the burner has European writing on it. Maybe German or Swedish. This may be an alcohol stove but I am not sure. The whole stove measures 11 by 6 1/2 by 8 1/2 tall. This item looks very old but has been well kept. The brass tank is not dented and the stove sits level. I do not see any damage or distortion to the unit. The black burn has some surface rust that will wirebrush off, you can repaint the black burner if you want. It was painted originally with some sort of high temperature paint. The on/off stem looks like it is missing a key or knob, it has a squre end. Because I do not know what type fuel it takes and would not recommend gasoline, the antique burner is being listed as a collectible for display only. Thanks for looking.

Rare Antique 1906 JH Bengalia Alcohol Stove Jacob Hirschhorn Steel Brass Burner
I have up for auction an alcohol stove made by Jacob Hirschhorn. The knob is marked J.H. Bengalia with a picture of a stag. If my research is correct. This alcohol stove dates to 1906. The website said it is"very rare" If it is rare or not, I do not know. The stand, grate, and font are made out of steel. I believe the burner to be brass. It has a removable top grate. The stove measures 6 1/2" high to the top of the stand. The font measures about 5 3/4" in diameter at the widest point. It has plenty of wear and some rust, please see all pictures. It weighs two pounds.

Antique Vintage Brass Glogau Alcohol Gas Stove Small Finger Handle
The top is marked Glogau& Co. Chicago U.S.A. This small stove was made during the early 20th century by Glogau& Co. A magnet does not stick to the font which I believe to be brass. The brackets are metal. It is a small lightweight alcohol burner. The wick is on a rotating piece. The wick is lit and rotated under the burner. Missing cap for the end- It measures 4 1/4" high to the top of the bracket and 3 7/8" in diameter across the bottom without the brackets. It has some wear. Some rust, some small dings.
