The gentleman that I purchased this from is the one who had purchased it at the Estate auction around 1996. With the intent on installing it in his older Shelbyville home's kitchen which was undergoing a restoration. Anyway, he decided to go a different direction on the appliances, and that is when I came to own this remarkable stove. It was late 1996 when I purchased it. And the gentleman to me a story that I must pass on to you. The lady who originally bought this stove had used it daily since new, but being in her late 80's and a widow was pressured by her family to get a"new fangled" stove with autopilot features as they were concerned for her safety with a standing pilot light, and they were even going to pay for it. She refused over and over again until finally one day she said she would accept a"new" stove as long as they had"her" trusty companion"stove" installed down in the basement so that she could cook her Holiday dinner on her own stove. And so it would be! But when the kids were cleaning up the her old house for the estate sale. They noticed how clean the"new" stove was, and came to the conclusion that she had in fact not been using it at all, but going up and down the basement stairs everyday until her death. HMMMMMph? Anyway. When I purchased this in 1996, I took to the local appliance store for a"once over" cleaning, inspection, tune-up as well as having the oven controller removed and sent out to the Tulsa Stove Hospital to have it re-calibrated. I also had the top burners and grate re-porcelained by a company in Tennessee. I was having a"new" Victorian Country built, and this was installed upon moving in. My wife and I have enjoyed this stove up until May 2010, when we updated the kitchen with new SS appliances and a commerc

Box Here is an emergency Carbon Monoxide Self Rescuer made for miners by the Mine Safety Appliances Company of Pittsburgh, circa 1920s-30s. It comes to you still sealed in the original package, and in its box. The box has reinforced metal corners, and displays a man wearing the nose plugs with the breathing apparatus in his mouth. On one side of the box, the following is noted: U.S. Bureau of Mines Approval No. 1447” there is also a caution that“this container for storage purposes only and must not be worn on the person” I am guessing because it is cardboard and might pose a fire risk. On the other end is a list of parts and catalogue numbers for reordering. My guess is that this would have been used to treat Arthritis mostly but could also be used for bruised or sore muscles? The solid Oak box is in great condition with a working lid and tight hasp. The tools are stored in the basement compartment underneath the machine and levers on the top. The instructions are located on the inside of the wooden lid and are still in great condition for their age. The wires and plug ins are still functional. The tools consist of 2 conducting cords with tips 2 improved sponge electrodes 1 shiny metal foot plate 1 massage ... moreroller 1 hair brush and a metal tube hand electrode. The hair brush seems to have been used considerably and is missing a few metal teeth or bristles. The Respirator is in Fantastic condition! The rubber is good. Not brittle or cracked, the headbands still have a elasticity, and no rust or pitching in the metal pieces. But i believe they date back to the 1940's. what we have is a collection of 3 different packages from the Mine Safety Appliances Company of Pittsburgh, PA. included is a package of Waterproof Adhesive Compresses(basically Band-Aids) this is a box of 16 and they are all there(i only pulled out 8 for the photo, but all 16 are in there) 4in. Compress Bandage- 1 piece, packaging inside is unopened; and 2in.
