It's a fairly heavy type of lifter, and is obviously an older piece. The lifter is about 8-1/2 inches long and weighs about 6 ounces. I can't find the slightest damage beyond light use marks and some surface roughness. Likely from the original casting. The end of lifting lug is about 3/4 by 5/8 by 1/8 inches. Offered is a cast iron stove eye lifter and shaker wrench tool. These were used to lift the eyes. Or lids on old cook and heating stoves. This piece is unmarked beyond"446, so I am unable to connect it with a particular maker or era. It is obviously an older piece. It's a particularly robustly made piece with a smallish lifting lug. The lifter is about 8-1/2 inches long and weighs about 11 ounces. I can't find the slightest damage beyond light use marks and some surface roughness. Likely from the original casting. It has a smaller half-moon shaped lifting lug, measuring about 1/2 by 1/8 inch. These can sometimes be ground a bit to fit a particular eye. It has one of those odd shaker wrench tools opposite the lifting lug, and there is a bit of casting sprue remaining in it. This part of the tool may also be for adjusting interior ... morevents, particularly in cookstove ovens. I've posted lots of pictures so you can look it over. Old Antique Ornate Filigree Cast Iron Stove Flue Cover Plaque Marked S H W 8.5"
This is(I think? a Cast Iron Flue Cover. I can't imagine what else it could be if not a flue cover? It is 8 3/8ths inches across and is slightly bowled- about one inch. It is Very Ornate with very intricate cut out areas and lots of embossed detail on the ironwork also. The detail is just as detailed on the back as it is on the front. It has a very stiff sturdy wire hang loop and has raised initials SHW of the maker( Not sure what it is. But the possibilities are endless! I could see it wired on an entrance gate or in the garden, or just hang it on the wall. Very Cool piece! It weighs 1 pound 5 ounces without a box. No cracks or breaks anywhere.

Up for bid is one(1) vintage Stover 66 cast iron stove lid lifter in excellent. Gently-used condition. It measures approximately 8-3/4" long. This interesting kitchen collectible was used for lifting the lids from a coal/wood stove. It has a spiral wire handle that forms a hook at the end for hanging. See pictures. NOTE: The stove lid lifter is usually an iron device. Often nickel- plated. With a flattened hook at one end for lifting the iron stove lids/plates from the stove or range top.
