It is very rusty so you can hardly see the original surface. But the wonderful embossed designs stand out dramatically, nevertheless. The door has a sliding vent with a knob as well as a latch knob. I'm not sure of the brand of stove that it was part of as there are no marks that I can see to identify it. Restoring this piece to a working stove would be great, but it could also be repurposed as interior or garden wall decor. The rusty patina is super attractive and I have left it as it was found. Measurements are about 12-3/4” overall width(including the latch& hinge brackets) or 10-7/8" for just the door x 8" height. RARE Antique Metal Cast Iron Myers Stove Golden Star No 4 Sad Iron Heater 1882
I have searched the last 10 years of eBay data and cannot find another example of the stove. So to say it's unique is probably an understatement! It is constructed out of cast-iron with the wick and risers constructed out of a lighter metal. The front of the stove reads"Myers. Osborne& CO. NO 4 GOLDEN STAR 1882" With one side at the base reading"CHICAGO, ILL. And the other side reads"CLEVELAND, O. The dimensions are at the base it is 18" wide by 13" Tall by 14" deep. The flat iron platform is 16-1/2" wide by 10-1/4" deep. I did not see any cracks in the casting anywhere. The tin metal that goes around the top of the stove has been replaced at some point and it does have some corrosion damage along the bottom. The wick flues have also been replaced at some point with a newer tin metal. The ... morefront glass windows have been replaced with plastic so this unit has been used for display only recently. Each is marked with the company name around the center but they are difficult to read. The center measures approx 2 3/4' and have a lower hole opening of approximately 1" Center to center to each of the wheels is approx 4 5/8'This measurements was taken on the top of the caster.The wheel bolt that mounts the wheel to the actuall caster center to center measured at the wheels is 5 3/8' They work great. All of the wheels move freely. They do have some oil on the bearings. They are in good used condition. However there is a rusty patina and signs of age and wear. Please view pictures for details. Lot of 4 Fancy Antique Cast Iron Stove Legs Eastlake Era Style Designs MB 87 Mk I didn’t have a lot of time to shop this week because of visiting relatives. But I found some awesome pieces regardless, and I’ll be going to my favorite flea market this weekend, so I’ll have a boatload of items, fingers crossed, that will be new. I appreciate your business! If you haven't figured it out yet. This week I had loooots of wonderful old iron come find me- and this is my second lot of stove legs to list, so you might want to check out my other listings. This listing is for a matched set of 4 antique stove legs. They are very fancy, but not in an ooh-la-la kind of way, I'd call it more of a country primitive way- the designs very reminiscent of Eastlake era, late 1800s style to me. Each leg measures 12" tall from the very bottom of the ... morefoot to the very top of where it mounts, and they are 5 3/4" at their widest. They are about 3" deep measuring from the back of the mounting piece on top, to the front of the feet. Each one weighs 2 3/4 lbs. They are in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition- totally strong, although I want to point out that one has been repaired at the attaching piece- see photos X& Y. The repair appears to have been done by a professional, as it is soldered on in place- you would have a hard time noticing it unless you have the leg turned over- no indication of it from the front, although at the top, there one small 1/2" piece of iron is missing on one side of the attachment(it has what I'd call two"wings" one on either side of the tongue that sticks out with the hole it it, and one of the"wings" is no longer there. and you can see two round headed hardware pieces on the backside of the"tongue" that are not on the others, clearly used in the repair. And also did a bunch of local shopping this week– from estate to barn sales, with a favorite antique store thrown in too. Lots of early primitives, Victorian, military, ephemera– there’s something for everyone! Wow. What a gorgeous set this is. It's 4 cast iron stove legs- waiting for a new home- either stove or repurposed table legs- you can't go wrong with these beauties. They are marked on the backside, Verona PatD. and then a date that looks like 6 03. Each one measures 16 3/4" tall, 4 5/8" wide at the top and 1 3/4" wide at the beautiful claw footed bottoms. Behind the fancy scrolls of the top of the leg, there's a plate with a mounting hole and two rounded divots where I'm ... moreassuming the legs may have slid into the stove. All of the legs but one have a single mounting hole, and one has 5- see photos 20& 21. The legs are all exactly the same except for this, and the center hole of the one that has 5 is in the same spot as the single holes for the other legs. The mounting plate is about 1" from the top of the fancy front, and it measures 3 1/4" from the front corner to the outside of the plate on either side. The center hole measures 1/4" diameter. Please let me know what more you may need as far as dimensions- I'm trying to think of all you might need. I think that they would make amazing table legs. Each leg weighs just over 2 1/2 lbs, so they may be expensive to ship to some locations- please know I can ship usps only, and I'm charging you shipping only- the high cost is on the post office. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition, with a very old and worn gold colored finish. You can see very small and light isolated spots of surface rust- really minor. Antique 4 Stor Cast Iron Jeweled& Mica Victorian Stove/ Heater 31" Tall This is a beautiful antique gas heater that's in great shape. It measures approx 31" tall x 16" wide at the feet(not including the gas line tube) The inside of the door is embossed with"4Stor Gas" As you can see in the pictures. It shows some age, but is in great shape. All 8 jewels are there, the top 4 are blue and the bottom 4 are red. The mica looks to be in good shape and none are missing. It has some surface rust all over but basically gives it character. The valve knob is stiff and we couldn't turn it by hand, but did not use any tools. We can see tubes inside, but don't know if everything it needs is there. There's a valve on one end and capped on the other end. It looks like its all intact. And might be useable, but ... morewe don't know for sure and have no way to test it. The heater does not sit flat on all four feet. It rocks back and forth a little. Not sure if this is just a manufacturing flaw or not. Please see all pictures. Some were taken with flash some were not to show more detail. They built stoves in Peekskill New York for over 40 years. This stove is complete and working. It has been used for auxillery heat for about a month each winter for the last 70 years. It has all the nickle plated parts AND THE FIREBOX IS IN GREAT SHAPE.No signs of cracks or warpage.
