All Brass, Dove Tailed Joints, Goose Finial, 19th Century.See pictures) These early dove talied joints were common in 18th Century metal work, but had just about disappeared before the mid 19th Century. There are a few very old repairs, a 1/2" split which isn't repaired. I can find no maker's name or mark on the cover. Early 19th CENTURY JUNIATA FURNACE STOVE PERRY COUNTY, PA.
Early 19th century stove made in Perry County. Pa. at Juniata Furnace. This furnace was in business from the late 18th century and closed by 1850. I believe it is a park today with some of the old buildings still standing. This small size stove 281/2" tall x 25" long x 11" wide is in excellent condition and well preserved. It's hard to find a stove this early with all of it's doors intact and in this condition. Most stoves are missing one or all of the doors as they perished easily. The only thing missing from this stove is the front clean out cover plate. The stove is solid with no holes or cracks. Someone has used modern nuts to secure the side oven doors to the hinges. The legs are in excellent condition. Nice example of an early Juniata Furnace Perry County, Pa. stove. Pickup at my location would be great. I am ... morelocated in Franklin County, Pa. just north of the Mason Dixon line. Delivery may be arranged but email me regarding this arrangement. Shipping is possible and I use Craters and Freighters in Middletown, Pa. Email me for a quote before bidding. Thank you!
