It's the same brown throughout, no dark edges that was common back then. The door has a few very small scratches but very hard to see. The shine on it is like new! I had to use the flash on my camera to keep the reflection of items around the room out of the pic- that white spot is the flash. The back is attached and shone in a pic, there is a small spot where the enamel is missing toward the bottom. Could use a good cleaning, the latch is a little loose but can probably be fixed once the back panel is taken off. I have many parts and will try to list them all soon. If you need something. Please send a question and I'll check my stash for you. I do have the pantry floor that is in the matching grey and a brushed chrome top along with the backsplash with the atomic age electric clock still attached. Also the griddle in great shape and inner parts and other stuff I can't remember. This item is very heavy- if it costs more than $20. The gentleman that I purchased this from is the one who had purchased it at the Estate auction around 1996. With the intent on installing it in his older Shelbyville home's kitchen which was undergoing a restoration. Anyway, he decided to go a different direction on the appliances, and that is when I came to own this remarkable stove. It was late 1996 when I purchased it. And the gentleman to me a story that I must pass on to you. The lady who originally bought this stove had used it daily since new, but being in her late 80's and a widow was pressured by her family to get a"new fangled" stove with autopilot features as they were concerned for her safety with a standing pilot light, and they were even going to pay for it. She refused over and over again until finally one day she said she would accept a"new" stove as long as they had"her" trusty companion"stove" installed down in the basement so that she could cook her Holiday dinner on her own stove. And so it would be! But when the kids were cleaning up the her old house for the estate sale. They noticed how clean the"new" stove was, and came to the conclusion that she had in fact not been using it at all, but going up and down the basement stairs everyday until her death. HMMMMMph? Anyway. When I purchased this in 1996, I took to the local appliance store for a"once over" cleaning, inspection, tune-up as well as having the oven controller removed and sent out to the Tulsa Stove Hospital to have it re-calibrated. I also had the top burners and grate re-porcelained by a company in Tennessee. I was having a"new" Victorian Country built, and this was installed upon moving in. Up for Auction is a Very Rare Vintage Tappan Deluxe Door Handle. This one came off the oven door. Complete with screws and caps. In Very Good Condition, the Chrome is nice and Shiny showing very little wear, The Red Emblem is Vibrant with no damage, the White Paint behind the Plastic cover shows loss, you can take the two metal clasps off the back and pop that off to clean, I did not want to damage the clasps so I will let new Owner handle that. I also have one other Door Handle up for auction, both came off my Stove, one was on the Oven door and One was on my Broiler Door. 1953 Vintage antique HOME COMFORT E-1 electric cooking stove range oven IT WORKS
Vintage Home Comfort E-1 electric cooking stove. This stove worked when my step-grandpa last used it. After testing it recently. I found that both the upper and lower coils in the oven heat up, as can be seen in the photo, so the oven works. All four burners also heat as they should. I cannot get the dial to turn to test the middle"deep well. However, I may have been doing something wrong as I initially thought the oven was not working until I found the manual, which also goes along with the auction, and realized I just had it in the wrong mode. I should have re-tested the deep well dial after finding the manual, but I forgot to, and the stove is almost 2 hours from us. The plastic/glass cover is missing off the timer, and I did not test the timer. It has been kept in his kitchen in his heated home for the last ten years. It is as is ... morebut most everything appears to be working. The burners and oven definitely work. It is about 40 inches wide by about 27 inches deep(including the handles out front) and the height from the floor to the top is about 37 inches plus about another 9 inches for the area where the dials are located. The manual along with various other documents, like a bill of sale and original purchase letter from the company are also included. This was bought in 1953 brand new and my step-grandpa's family was the original and only owner. This item ships from a smoke-free building. This Classic O'Keefe& Merritt 4 Burner stove has a Oven and Broiler on the right side. The left side is a warming oven and storage. It is 35" wide and about 29" front to back. The back is 46" high and to the stove top it is 36.5" Excellent condition. Only one owner, late fifties model. No scratches. A couple chips on an edge, other wear is from normal aging. All the grates and accessories are still in this stove and are in excellent condition. The baked enamel finish is in excellent condition. If you look close at the pictures you can see the reflection of the burners. The kick plate is not the baked enamel and can be touched up with a good spray paint. You have to see this stove to believe how well it has been kept. My guess is it still works because the owner kept things in working order. It has been in this ... morehouse over 50 years. I am parting out an old Wedgewood gas stove. This listing is for an oven rack that goes in the oven. This listing is for one oven rack only. Not the entire stove. I am including a picture of the entire stove for reference purposes only. I have 2 of these racks available, please specify quantity. This stainless steel oven rack is in great shape. But as you can see it can use a cleaning. It measures 15 3/4 x19 1/4 inches, and weighs about 2 1/2 pounds. As far as I know this is the original part for this stove. This handle is solid and in very nice bright and white condition- no chips cracks or stains. This handle will accomodate both styles of chrome end caps- 2 tab or the slide in fold-over.
