Large bottle coaster would take a standard Champagne or wine bottle, or a Magnum bottle. ... moreIt is silver plated on copper with pierced detail to the sides and roped edges. The base is made from turned wood and the underside is covered with dark green baize. Unfortunately, there are no marks from which to ascertain its age or maker. This piece is in good condition with only some minor wear to the plate along the roped edges and around the piercing. And a very small scratch to the side(please see photos) The varnish to the wood is generally worn through use. The baize is firmly in place and is still rich in colour with just a couple of small stain spots which, I think, result from silver polish. The Coasters are of quite a large size. Easily holding a full size bottle of Champagne or a Large Decanter as seen in our photos. The Coasters shows wear throughout to the Brass base metal, but it actually looks like the Coasters are Gold Gilt and lends a very rich look to them in my opinion. The Bottoms of the Coasters are carved wood, Mahogany I believe and they show nice age shrinkage as you want to see but are also still solid with only the most minor looseness(they do not fall out) The Coasters are unmarked, but a lot of early Victorian Silver never was marked and judging by the quality they were made by a fine period Silver company. The Cast fancy designs around the top are applied in sections, the lines you see in the photos are original and not cracks, there is no cracks throughout. Here is a nice vintage silverplate wine or champagne bottle coaster made by Gorham. It has a ribbed scalloped border with shells. The back is marked GORHAM EP YC1680. It measures about 7 1/4" across. Overall it looks to be in nice condition. With just a couple very minor pitting or corrosion dots on the inside bottom. It will need polishing as it is tarnished. Nice size and proportions- Geometric pierced arch gallery with a turned wood base In good vintage condition commensurate with materials. Age and use with no damage or repairs, just typical vintage wear patina. The silver plate is in general good condition with some expected light plate rub wear to the leading base rim edge and disc and some light blemish wear. Offered at auction is a large. Early 20 th century. Wine or champagne bottle coaster. This coaster is predominately made of glass with a decorative sterling silver rim. The coaster measures approximately 6 ¾ inches in diameter with a depression or“bowl” in which to set the bottle in, measuring approximately 5 inches. This coaster is large enough to accommodate the base of a standard wine bottle a champagne bottle or a magnum size wine bottle. The rim of this coaster is hallmarked as being sterling and made by the Wallace silver co. I would estimate that there is $25.00 to $30.00 worth of silver used to make the coasters rim. This coaster is in very good condition with no chips or cracks to the glass. Large vintage silver plated Galleried Champagne/Wine Bottle Coaster
Vintage silver plated Galleried Bottle Coaster This beautiful. Large bottle coaster would take a standard Champagne or wine bottle, or a Magnum bottle. It is silver plated on copper with pierced detail to the sides and roped edges. The base is made from turned wood and the underside is covered with dark green baize. Unfortunately, there are no marks from which to ascertain its age or maker. This piece is in good condition with only some minor wear to the plate along the roped edges and around the piercing. And a very small scratch to the side(please see photos) The varnish to the wood is generally worn through use. The baize is firmly in place and is still rich in colour with just a couple of small stain spots which, I think, result from silver polish. Lovely silverplate wine coaster with grape motif and felt bottom. Beautiful grape border and perfect for wine or champagne. Coaster is from the 1950's-1960's and is in nice vintage condition. There is one damaged leaf on outer rim but it is not easily noticed-a small piece is broken off. Piece is unsigned. Will ship Internationally. Wine coaster came from an Illinois antique market. I believe the outside has a lacquer finish so polishing is minimal. Coaster measures 4 1/4" at base and just under 6 1/4" in diameter.

Wm HUTTON & SONS VICTORIAN SILVERPLATE AND WOOD WINE/CHAMPAGNE BOTTLE COASTERS
This is one of a pair of vintage wine coasters from the estate of an English gentleman who was living in Florence. Oregon. The reason I am selling them separately is that the pair are matched EXCEPT this one has the Wm. Hutton& Sons hallmark(8 crossed arrows) and a small x for the date but the other does not. I've been told that selling them separate is the correct way to do this. This is a silverplate and wood wine/champagne bottle coasters. The coaster measures approximately 7" in diameter by 2" tall. Overall condition is good. Some wear and fading to the wood medallion and tarnish to the silverplate with some wear on the silverplate showing copper where the bottle goes in. Some wear to the felt bottom. Around the edge of the decoration is a thin line of copper wire which is how the earliest silver plate was done- it is ... morealmost a hallmark itself. But this wine coaster has no hallmark. Since it is matched to the marked one, I am listing it as by the same maker. There is no mark indicating if it is silver, silver plate, silver on copper, or other but the copper wire line and tarnish lead me to believe it is silver plate on copper. The coaster is made of copper which has been silver plated this is wearing through but nothing that spoils it's antique value. Round with fancy pierced sides and good roped top edge having a turned wooden base which has a felt bottom to protect polished surfaces. They are very nice looking with an elegant design. But they are starting to show some pitting on the inside plate where the bottle sits. The pitting is not too bad. But it is there. Just as a note to a potential buyer. They are very nice looking other than that. The dimensions are 5” round and 2” high I am new to eBay and learning the shipping process. My shipping prices may be a little high at the moment. Till I can learn the system to keep them as low as possible. Recently acquired from a local estate is this vintage silverplate wine coaster with solid sides and beaded type decoration around the top edge and near the bottom edge. I do not see any markings on the coaster to help identify the maker and the age. The bottom of the coaster is lined with felt. The inside diameter across the top is a generous 5” tight measurement-best to allow another 1/8” leeway) And the height is 2 3/8” An average wine/champagne bottle comfortably fits into the wine coaster. Condition: Generally good condition, but it does need a good polishing(I am selling it in the same condition as I found it in the estate. There are a few small scratches on the side.
