The Bowl shows the most amazing design to the lid which I am sure was quite difficult and time consuming to produce. The Lid also shows a most interesting Original Family Armorial Crest and you can see the shadow the Sterling inlaid Plaque for the Armorial so you know the Dish has never been re-plated which I know is how advanced collectors want to find them. You can also see the Tinned Interior of the Lid with Hammer marks from being completely Hand Made. This is the finest quality example I have sold in years and though unmarked it is certainly the quality of a top maker such as Matthew Boulton. The Serving Dish is a nice large and impressive example for display and also quite practical for modern use. Measuring 11" wide and sitting 9" tall or the actual serving area is 9" wide by 2" deep. The Dish is in very fine all original condition with minor signs of age and use including some Copper peaking through on the high spots but no dents, cracks or repairs. I doubt you will find another large Authentic Sheffield Plate Covered Serving Bowl of this quality and great for up for auction any time

ORNATE MID VICTORIAN SISSONS SHEFFIELD SILVERPLATE ENTREE ARMOURIAL click on images to enlarge A mid Victorian Sheffield silver plated two part entrée with bright cut engraved cartouched decoration to both sides of the lid and engraved floral decoration to the two‘end’ sides and finished with well defined beaded borders to both parts. There is an armourial to one cartouche. The piece sports a detachable and original beaded handle to the upper of the lid this adds the alternative of using the lid as a separate serving dish. It is in good condition for its age but there is some wear to the silver cover. There is some shadowy thinning surrounding the handle to the upper lid and a little to the armourial but there is more obvious utensil wear to the inner of dish as can be seen in the image of same. There is an expected resting ring to the ... moreunderside. As is the norm with these older pieces the lid sits better one way around rather than the other. The rest is gleaming. Fine Pair of Antique Sheffield Silverplate Covered Dish Entree / Buffet Servers
This is a pair of fine Antique Covered Entree Servers with Hot Water Compartments believed to be Sheffield. England, late 19th century. These pieces are deeply ornamented with hand chased floral and leaf designs in patterns nearly identical to other Old Sheffield pieces. These pieces are unmarked, however, the base metal is heavy copper and the process of"layering" silver appears to be present when viewed under magnification as consistent with genuine Sheffield. Each server is comprised of 4 pieces: a hot water compartment on legs. The inner dish, a lid, and a detachable lid handle. The inner dish can be used separately without the hot water compartment and has its own bottom support. The detachable lid handle allows the lid to sit upside down to be used as an additional serving dish. Each piece measures approximately 11 1/2 inches ... moreby 10 inches by 6 inches tall. These are in very good antique condition with no dents, some light scratches to outer surface, and some worn spots to the plating, most noticeable is on one of the lids as shown in photo#12. Fine Antique Sheffield Silverplate Covered Dish Entree / Buffet Server
This is a fine Antique Covered Entree Server with a Hot Water Compartment believed to be Sheffield. England, late 19th century. This piece is deeply ornamented with hand chased floral and leaf Rococo designs in patterns nearly identical to other Old Sheffield pieces. These pieces are unmarked, however, the base metal is heavy copper and the process of"layering" silver appears to be present when viewed under magnification as consistent with genuine Sheffield. The server is comprised of 4 pieces: a hot water compartment on legs. The inner dish, a lid, and a detachable lid handle. The inner dish can be used separately without the hot water compartment and has its own bottom support. The detachable lid handle allows the lid to sit upside down to be used as an additional serving dish. The lid is lightly marked with a beautiful small ... morelion armorial. This piece measures approximately 14 inches by 9 inches by 7 inches tall. It is in very good antique condition with minor dents, some light scratches to outer surface, and some worn spots to the plating, mainly to the underside of the interior tray(see photo 12) There are a few deeper scratches in one of the inner dishes from use. Rare Antique Christofle Silverplate Entree Dish w/ Lid Hallmarked & Monogrammed
Item: Rare antique Christofle silver plate entree dish with matching lid that has a flower shaped handle. Both top and bottom pieces have hallmarks and hand etched numbers as well as engraved in numbers. The etched numbers are 040-38-4911on the bottom and 040-36-4911 on the top. Engraved numbers match and are 972205 on each piece. Both pieces are marked with the numbers 1 and 5 with each inside a square next to the logo also inside a square with Christofle written in a rectangle Lid measures about 6 3/4" across. Overall with top piece on. Dish measures 4" tall including top piece and 3" w/o handle, and 9" across including side handles Weighs in at about 1.75 lbs(just over 28 ounces) Condition: Has moderate tarnish/patina consistent with age. Nothing broken or damaged and nice clean insides. Details are strong on the monograms, ... morehallmarks and outer details on the lid/handle/bottom piece. After closer inspection I have noticed some very light denting under the lip of the lid top piece.
