Antique Edwardian English Silver Plated Entree Dish. By Daniel& Arter. Description Antique English silver plated entree dish. Rectangular shaped dish with curved under edges raised on four bun feet(1 missing) Protuding rim decorated with repousse foliate decoration& a matching design handle on each side. Lift off lid with a raised oval shaped dome surrounded by a beaded border& finished with a lifting handle. Stamped on the underside with the makers mark. Maker Daniel& Arter Birmingham. England. The firm was established in Birmingham in the late 19th century(the first known sterling silver hallmark was entered in Birmingham Assay Office in 1882) The founders were Thomas Henry Daniel(died 1897) and Thomas Richard Arter(died c. 1915) and was active at Globe Nevada Silver Works. Highgate Street, Birmingham as makers of brass, ... morenickel-silver and electro-plated spoons, forks, ladles, etc. 1892) The firm had also a London showroom at 62 Holborn Viaduct(until 1896) and later at 98 Hatton Garden. Sterling silver hallmarks were entered in Sheffield Assay Office(1906) and London Assay Office(1913) Both these hallmarks were scarcely used. In 1920 the firm was converted into a limited liability company and became Daniel& Arter Ltd. The business was closed in the 1930s and their dies were purchased by W.J.Baker& Sons Ltd. Very good condition with very light surface marks that are due to genuine age. Use& polishing. ORNATE EDWARDIAN SILVER PLATED CHAFING PAN& BURNER& STAND A really fabulous looking piece, this three part chafing pan with its engraved floral decoration to the detachable lid and turned ebonised wooded handle and knop. Is estimated to have been made around the Edwardian period. The stand is raised on three bun feet with column legs and ornate mounts and possesses a demi lune depression in its top band to accommodate the handle plus a central ring housing for the burner. The burner came with the piece; we have not attributed the whole item to its maker. Walker and Hall, as we suggest that the burner is a sympathetic replacement for surely this renowned maker would have impressed us with his name elsewhere on the piece, if such was the case. It is in very good condition with a gleaming and ample silver cover. On very close inspection ... morethere is a feint whisper of polishing wear to the decoration to the lid but this. I have marked this bottle holder as Edwardian but it could be a little later. Certainly it dates from the early part of the last century. In good condition it is 6.5" 16cm) high and almost 4.5" 11cm) inner diameter and is beatifully reticulated or pierced. Low start and no reserve. Please check my other items. Meridional silver plated pierced dish from a Beverly Hills home Edwardian rose
Brazilian silver plated Meridional footed Bon Bon dish plate from a House owned by a lawyer in Beverly Hills. It has been well used but good for it's age. A little bit of pitting in the base and a small dent which could be repaired easily. Very rare thing you will never see another. It has a rose trail design. Approx' 7 inches diameter.

This is a good quality silver plated nickel(epns) Caviare Dish. Made by Pinder Bros of Sheffield. It has an inner liner where the Caviare is placed. Underneath you put crushed ice the keep it cool.
