Rare Mappin& Webb silver plated Lidded Dish possibly for Muffins. Designer Keith Murray. Murray was at the company at this period of backstamp. His designs in silver and silver plate were modern and mostly geometric in from. Decoration was limited to turned rings which both enhanced the shapes and made the pieces easy to clean. This dish has those same turned rings to the lid and base plate. And has the same finial as in other Murray designs for Mappin and Webb. the dish measures 16cm wide and 10cm in height. This piece is a good quality piece and is a substantial weight of approx 1.7kgs This piece measures approx 11.5 inches long by approx 8.5 inches across and approx 6 inches deep to the top of the handle Very nice beaded edge decoration around the edges as shown. It is in very good condition with no major dings or dents. But it is a used item and shows some very light scratches on the base and inside as shown. Made by Roberts& Belk. vintage silver plated(epns) lidded tray/entree dish? by martin hall& co Please be advised that this is a used and vintage item. It does display signs of use, wear and ageing. Please study photos carefully. Unsure of actual age. Research will advise between 1866 + 1936 for this maker. The plating process they developed is also known as Martinoid we believe. Measures approx 17cms x 24.5cms not including the handles. The lip of the tray stands approx 2.5cms above the surface it sits on. We are unsure what it's primary use was designed for. The item is pretty straight and seems dent free. The draw back for the item is the amount of use/cleaning and age. The plate has clearly suffered and has worn through in many places and has various tarnish marks etc. See photos. We feel however the item is just way too good to scrap. Heavy Victorian Silver Plated oval warming dish and 2 matching lidded dishes
There are no hall or makers markings on these dishes or lids(other than the numbers 1&2 but I believe them to be silver plate. The entree dishes are monogrammed M. The entree dishes are approx 30 by 23cm and including the(removable) handle are about 20cm high. The warming dish is approximately 23cm across by 35cm and 7cm. The entree dishes are heavy at approx 1780 g each. The warming dish is 1915g. If you have any questions about this item please ask me and thank you for your interest. VERY SOUGHT AFTER AND COLLECTABLE. The serving/ entrée dish measures approx 20.5 cm wide by 28 cm(excluding handles) in length by APPROX 8 cm tall. It consists of a double handled lid on main base that itself can be used as a second base. The dish is fully marked EPNS Made in England but the makers mark is unreadable. On the base this item is marked as being made by Walker and Hall. One of the better firms of this era. The dish itself fits into a four legged support frame with the same beaded pattern as the dish border. The supprt legs each have a floral decorative motif at the top and lions paw feet at the base. The feet are joined to a central circular section by four curved support bars. Again these are of the same beaded design. Sitting in the central circular section is the spirit burner that would have been used to keep the water in the base of ... morethe dish warm, therefore keeping the food above warm. Description Lovely set of vintage silver plated lidded ramekins. Pot de creme, or small pots. The pots have a very clean. Classic design with straight sides, shell handles, and are finished with simple tear drop shaped finials on the lids. These bowls are perfect for serving a variety of dishes such as creme brulee. Caviar, shell fish, mousse, or other desserts, or they can be used to serve side garnishes or ondiments with the main entree. There were no porcelain or glass liners found with this set. I'm not sure of the exact metal composition of these pieces; however. They have nice weight to both the lid and base and are of high quality. This piece is a good quality piece and is a substantial weight of over 1.6kgs before packaging This piece measures approx 12 inches long by approx 9.5 inches across and a raised beaded edge decoration all around the top edge of the base section.The lid has matching beaded decoration around the top edge with lateral beading and engraving all around and with solid cast beaded handle. VINTAGE LIDDED 3 pc. CASSEROLE ROUND SILVER PLATED DISH
VINTAGE LIDDED CASSEROLE THREE PIECE ROUND DISH SILVER PLATED A vintage silver plated. Round Lidded Casserole Dish, will come with the original 1 1/2 quart Pyrex glass insert. Bowl lip has a rope type design around the edge and the lid has a matching patterned finial. Please look at pictures for the detail design. This was a wedding gift in 1963. I cannot find a makers mark on this piece. The casserole dish is in allover very good condition. Has no dents or dings and shows normal wear with some light surface scratching and some scuffing on the bottom from normal use. The casserole will need polishing! I must mention, when I removed the casserole from our China cabinet, the lid had tiny pin needle size black specks on it. Silver polish removed the specks off. And the lid still has a shiny, mirror bright surface, however, I believe this has ... morecaused some very slight pitting. It is really not visible, unless you know it, and are looking for it. The interior bottom of the casserole has 3 small dark tarnish spots(see pictures) Silver polish did not remove them. By no means does this affect the looks of this casserole. All mentioned is for the sake of accuracy. Height including handle approx. 6 1/2" tall approx. 10 1/4" in diameter Pyrex insert hoplds 1.5 quarts.
