Old Antique Victorian Silver Plate Vegetable Dining Table Tureen made by Mappin& Webb of Sheffield. Circa 1890, engraved on the bottom. Their items are always well made with a nice Design. It has no dints or dents some wear to the inner lid surface marks from use in the lower bowl still a good useful serving tureen. It has a Godrooned Edge round the base and on the Lid which also has 2 Lifting Handle. Spoons have some ornate engraving to Handle. Salts are octanonal in shape& have the same engraving on one side. All fully stamp marked for Mappin& Webb with the exception of a spoon although it is identical to the others with the same engraving. In an excellent used. With a little usage wear to inside of the salts(see pictures, for some reason the light makes the corner look coloured. This in fact is not the case. A few surface scratches, but nothing that has gone through the plate, and just a couple of little areas of wear to the base, where they can't be seen in normal use. No dents nor dings It has a diameter of about 9 inches or 23cm and a depth of about 1.5 inches or 4cm Certainly in very good condition. Vintage Silver plate covered tureen / serving dish Mappin and Webb W3446
Lovely serving dish/ tureen silverplated and decorated in beaded pattern with detachable top handle by Mappin and Webb W3446. Because the handle is detachable this can either be a covered serving dish or 2 seperate serving dishes. There is an engraving of a stags head to the side. There are some scratches to the inside of the top cover and wer marks to the base of the piece. There is one heavy scratch on the base and it looks as if in trying to remove this by polishing the major part of the makers mark has been removed- you can still see the outline of the diamond and also clearly see the W3446. Dimensions 12 inches by 9 inches by 7 inches. I have confirmed that this is a Mappin and Webb design however. Very stylish piece of tableware.

This is a fabulous entree dish or tureen which can be used as a covered dish or as two separate dishes. It is made by the famous Mappin and Webb silver smith company and is fully marked. MAPPIN& WEBB LONDON& SHEFFIELD. MAPPINPLATE. w28257 and the letter F in a shield.This dates the tureen to the late 1920's or early 1930's. There is no tarnish. This beautiful and stylish pedestal dish is by Mappin& Webb in triple deposit Princes' plate. It has a plain circular foot. Architectural shaped swing handle and a classic design around the rim of the dish which is slightly scalloped. Please see photographs. Apart from a few light scratch marks to the centre of the dish bowl from use it is in lovely condition and polishes to a mirror shine. Perfect for small cakes.
