Original Art Deco silver plated/glass butter(?) or preserve dish
A silver plated Art Deco stand with a fitted glass dish which I take to be for containing butter or perhaps preserves.The dish has a slim arched handle broader and fluted at its upper end with crest of loosely shell form at the very top centre.This handle being bolted to a base of rounded rectangle form similarly fluted and standing on four stumpy feet of geometric form.The pressed glass dish slots neatly into the central aperture with its walls with fan and diamond patterns rising well above the plane of the base.I can find no maker's mark but feel that this is a piece of Continental Art Deco-perhaps German?
