HISTORY IS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PIECE AND IT WAS. COMMISSIONED IN 1966 AS A GIFT BY THE FAMOUS HIGH QUALITY SILVERSMITHS VINERS OF SHEFFIELD ENGLAND. Has a lovely cast handles and flared feet, the rim has a serpentine design. It has a lovely shape and design. Condition is pretty good. Outside the plating is bright and fresh, a little rippling in one small area, see picture five, inside a little dull from usage A fine table piece. A Large Silver-Plated Tureen by Walker and Hall. Sheffield, Circa 1950. Both base and lid are in good condition with a little plate loss particularly on the underside of the base. There are also scratch and scuff marks. Commensurate with age. Please study all the photos in detail to ascertain the overall condition of both the base and the lid. The underside of the base is stamped(photo 12) with the W&H pennant; date letter'X' within a pentagon shield(circa 1950) 52259; A1; WALKER& HALL SHEFFIELD. An Antique Victorian/Georgian Silver Plated Warming Tureen/Dish by E.A. c.1830
Here we have a gorgeous early 19th century silver plated warming dish or tureen with an extra removable tray. This piece has the most gorgeous cast handles and feet with acanthus type decoration typical of the 1800-30 period although this dish could be as late as maybe 1860 in date. Marked EA on the bottom but I don't know what maker this could apply to. Originally this piece would have been filled with hot water and the tray on top would have kept food warm for serving. A really good piece of early 19th century silver plate. Measurements(approx) it measures 8" 203mm) deep x 14" 356mm) wide x 3.5" 89mm) high. Condition: this tureen is in generally good shape. There are some small dents to the body and the tray but no splits and the plated finish shows very little sign of wear. Here we have a gorgeous early 20th century silver plated lidded tureen by Cooper Brothers. This tureen has a slightly Art Deco design meaning it might just be post WW1 the very early 20's in date. A good piece of early 20th century silver plate. Measurements(approx) it measures 7.5" 191mm) deep x 10.5" 267mm) wide x 2.5" 64mm) high. Condition: this tureen is in generally good shape. There are no major dents or splits and the plated finish shows very little sign of wear. There is one area of imperfection on the edge of the lid like a rogue piece of solder that might be able to come off with the right technique.
