This is a large ornate champagne coaster made of either silver or silver plate with a wood and felt base. It has hallmarks on the side. One is a castle and the others look like letters but I don't know what they mean. It has a fair amount of scratches and dings on it. It measures 6.5 inches in diameter and is about 1.75 inches tall. Antique Wine Coaster -Silver Plate with Wood Base -Grape Vine Design
Wine Coaster- Silver Plate and Wood Grape Design around the top rim. It appears the maker's mark has been removed from the bottom. There are dents in the plated piece in the center. The pictures show that the wood is spotted. These have the look and feel of sterling silver. There is no loss of silver. It was a little difficult. But the experts did determine that the coaster is silver plate and not sterling. This is one of a set of two. The second one is in the same condition and available. I have owned them for the last 45 years. The previous family believed they were from the early 1900's or 20's. The coaster measures 5 and 1/2 inches in diameter. It stands 2 and 3/4 inches tall.

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ENGLISH PAIR SILVER PLATE & WOOD WINE COASTERS SILVER CENTER
This is a pair of English Victorian wine coasters made of silver plate. Wood, and silver. The coasters are marked underneath with both an indistinct mark- a flower or a bust- and a crown. I believe the center medallion to be silver based on a lack of wear(no copper shows through) and the lion with the raised paw that decorates each center button. The base around the silver piece is a dark wood and is ribbed. The outer edges of the coaster are an elaborate grape vine design that is both detailed and beautiful. Each coaster measures just under 2" tall and about 7&3/4" in diameter. These lovely pieces are almost certainly English silver plate even though I cannot determine the maker. They came out of a collector's Connecticut estate with other early English silver plate pieces. These would be perfect for display or use in any ... morecollection or home. This exceptional(unmarked) wine coaster has very good weight and dates from the middle 1800s. It measures 2 ¼” tall x 6 7/8” across and holds up to 5” diameter bottles. You will note minor wear with exsposed copper on the sides and the wooden bottom could use a coat of wax as it is dry and shrunken from age and use. Antique SILVER PLATE ON COPPER & WOOD WINE BOTTLE COASTER Grapevine Design
This is an antique silver plate and wood wine bottle coaster. It is decorated with a nice grape vine around the rim with a wooden center. The outside bottom edge is marked with a P. A makers mark that might be F.V.F. and a star of David mark. It's in good condition without any cracks or breaks. It has expected wear to the plating that shows the copper underneath and some spots of dark tarnish and the wooden bottom has shrunk somewhat over the years. It is 7-1/4" in diameter and 1-1/2" tall.
