Stands on tripod legs which finish in a leaf shape lid has ferns and leaves engraved a truly beautiful item with only small signs of wear just a little tarnishing dimensions diameter 17cm. Height 15.5cm weighs 800g unpacked has impressed EPNS and FWS in a shield which is the stamp for Frederick Wilson of Sheffield from 1883 onwards in very good condition no chips cracks or restoration. Superb Quality James Dixon Silver Plated Roll Top Breakfast Dish. Decorative engraved letter on the top. Looks like V. See picture 4. This beautiful dish is in excellent condition. Comes complete with both original liners. The plain liner does have some useage marks. There is no damage or plate loss. But I think that the original lifting knop has been replaced at some time with a Bakelite one. Measures approx. 13 inches handle to handle by 7 inches and stands approx.8 inches tall on nicely shaped ornate legs. Full makers stamp.

A very beautiful and ornate Sheffield silver plated roll-top serving dish/ breakfast dish. It has swags& garlands of flowers and leaves around the bottom. It stands on four legs with goat head masks terminating in cloven hooves. The knobs are in the form of a Tudor Rose. The maker is H& L(Richard Hodd& William Linley 1862-1872 London) It is a large size measuring 13" wide and 9.5" deep. It stands approx. 9" tall. It is heavy weighing over 2 kg. It needs a small amount of attention. It is missing the inner tray and the tray that is there has come unsoldered at one edge. The roll top works but sometimes catches on the inner stary as it is slightly lower down at the point where it is unsoldered. When this tray is lifted the roll top mechanism works fine. It just needs a touch with a soldering iron.The bone handle has ... morean old soldered repair to it but it does not look bad. The silver plate is in very good condition with barely any wear. There is one scratch on the lid and a tiny indent on the lid nothing significant. It is a beautiful piece and well worthy of the small adjustment it needs. The bottom of the dish is stamped with a hall mark'HA EA FA' which points to Atkin Brothers of Sheffield registesterd in 1854. This has also been confirmed by local antiques store. Condition: Start by looking at the pictures. You'll see that the best condition part of the dish is the underside. The rest is very dirty in places and some of the plating has worn away. The pieces from inside the dish which hold the bacon are missing as is the mother of pearl inlay for the small handle.
