They must have been in a commercial institution as they have a circular hole drilled into both of them for what, I am guessing, must have been a wire for a lamp at one time. The holes can be disguised by using a wooden dowel, but we left them in case the next owner would like to use it for a lamp or some other electrical item(s). My first choice would be to display wooden horn phonographs on them, it would be perfect!! They have four legs with a circular shelf underneath that is approximately 24 inches round and is held up by four fancy fretwork shelf supports that join the legs. The skirt has egg and dart molding.

Each of the four top skirts is marked with 12 nail strikes that form a small circle. I am unfamiliar with this mark. But it is consistent on the four sides. This table has a lovely orange-y patina. This unique table has a beautifully grained walnut top accented with curved caned side panels and a caned backsplash. The front and side aprons have a detailed scrolled design with three carved center flowers. The four barley twist legs are joined by four scrolled stretchers with scrolled ends.
