It is truly a nice period untouched table. It has a ribbon mahogany top, round corner drop leaves, heavy bold column four legged base, solid cast brass Duncan Phyfe claw foot and built in castors. I normally don’t buy period furniture like this, but I was very impressed by how untouched this piece was. The overall size is 40.5 inches long, 24 inches wide when the leaves are closed, 15 inches wide on each leaf, 52 inches long when the leaves are flipped up. The finish is very nice for being 180 years old. It does show normal nicks, dings and scratches, but I believe it would rub out nicely to make a good presentation.

The wood in this wonderful old strong table is 1" thick. From wear. The wood feels like silk to the touch. An elderly Antique Dealer once told me that the way to tell if the piece of furniture is an early piece is to look for SQUARE Nuts(instead of Hexonal Nuts) and this table has square nuts(legs are removable) and is indeed an early piece. Table shows age in the best way ~ lovely Patina. I have made the measurements by using the widest part, as leaves are tapered; each leaf measures 33" widest part) x 16" widest part) With both leaves up, table measures 42" x 53" With both leaves down, table measures 42" x 23" With just one leaf up, table measures 42" x 37-1/2" Table measures 29" tall. We used table for dinner parties as well as a buffet for serving dishes. The two leaves give the table ... moreso many uses. Also, when both leaves down(Pembroke Style) it is so easy to place table in any room.
