Possibly Edwardian era desk or library table is in excellent condition. I have owned it since 1980 and have not altered the finish. Although it may have been refinished prior to my ownership. This desk is very sturdy. The dimensions are 40" long X 25 1/4" deep X 28 1/4" high. Nice chunky brass hardware is complete and original. This desk is constructed of solid wood.no veneers.which I think is flame mahogany. The dovetailed drawers are constucted of what appears to be bird's eye maple bottoms(which is a very high quality wood to be used on drawer interiors) and oak sides. There is one center drawer and two deeper. More narrow drawers on the right side. Drawers all work smoothly. There is a platform at the lower level of the desk. The four feet are carved animal-type. Fabulous Charles Limbert Quartersawn Oak Library Table. I believe the finish is original as well as the hardware(obviously screws& washers have been replaced) This is not a claim I make lightly. Please see pics! Burned Limbert Arts& Crafts stamp on inside of drawer on the left. Measures 42” wide x 30” deep x 29 1/2” height. Condition: Pretty amazing. No cracks anywhere. It's a very solid. Sturdy, handsome construction. Flaws: On the top of the desk there is a spot on the right that is darker(see pic#9) where it looks like someone probably sat an ink bottle then tried to remove a bit of ink. It looks like it's been there for a very long time. It's not an eyesore but needs to be pointed out. There is also a very small gouge or nick on the right side(see pic#12) On the left leg there is a strange"mystery" spot(flat) ... morewith a tiny spot of paint next to it(see pic#10) Lastly. On the back edge of the top you see a little paint where someone put it up against a wall when there was wet paint(see pic#11) The inside drawer does have ink stains. If you'd like a pic I can certainly send it. Pic#6 is a close-up of the finish on the drawer(outside) to help uphold my claims of it being the original finish. I'm really just trying to point out anything I see as a flaw no matter how small. I've made no attempt to oil it or clean it with any chemicals. Rare Atlas furniture library table/desk with 3 drawers
Rare Atlas furniture library table/desk with 3 drawers. In 1883 two Swedish craftsman. Gustaf Holmberg and Lars Erickson, started the first bedroom furniture manufacturer in Jamestown, New York. Some time later, there were as many as 40 different companies manufacturing bedroom furniture in that area. Those Swedish craftsman named their company the"Swedish Furniture Manufacturing Corporation" They renamed that company in 1887 the"Atlas Furniture Company" which became widely regarded as the highest quality bedroom furniture manufacturer in the United States from 1890 to 1920. We estimate this item was made sometime around 1905 to 1920. It still has its original paper label and matching pulls. Looks to be make from mahagony and birds eye maple. Original Antique Charles Limbert Arts & Crafts Mission Oak Library Table Desk
This is a gorgeous Charles Limbert quartersawn oak library table. It has the burned Limbert Art& Crafts stamp on the inside of the drawer. On the left. Notice the the bottom shelf is pegged and morticed. There is a missing slide-out shelf. The top measures 48" by 28& 1/4" and it is 39" tall. I don't see any ink stains on the top. Vintage Antique Solid Oak Wood Library Dining Work Table Desk Rustic 5' Restored
For auction is one freshly restored vintage oak library table. It has a solid oak frame and legs and an oak veneer top. The two drawers have solid oak handles. It has been stripped. Sanded, stained, and refinished in a natural Danish oil. I usually prefer to keep the original finish when possible, but this table was truly in dire need of refinishing. There are still a few flaws present, but they simply add character. There are some thin, dark scratches on the top still, as well as areas along the edge and corners where the veneer has worn through. There is also about an inch long depression on the back edge where there is still the remnants of a small burn mark(pictured) DIMENSIONS: 59.5" long. 31.5" deep and 30.5" tall. Clearance from bottom edge to floor is 24.5" and distance between legs on the long and short sides ... moreare 50" and 24" respectively. This is a beautiful antique solid oak library desk/table with drawer with curved legs. It is in very good condition- approx. size 39 l x 25w x 28 1/2h- there is a dent on top of table not very noticeable I think-I took a picture of it- checked it all over and I don't see anything else wrong with it that I noticed. I don't know how old it is and don't see any name on it. It is a very solid table and it has been in are family it seems forever I don't know if it was ever refinished.
