BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE LOUIS XV FRENCH SIDE ACCENT TABLE NIGHT STAND CARVED WOOD
We are pleased to offer this extremely beautiful Louis XV style antique side table. This exceptional. Wooden table or night stand features wonderful lines with carved wood accents. The table is two tiered with the top tier being much larger than the bottom. The table top is recessed with a carved wood, raised lip around the borders. It is square but has rounded corners and curved mid sections. The table top has a large, carved clam shell and scroll accent just beneath it on all four sides. The table has nicely carved legs that curve into small scrolls at the top. They angle in toward the bottom tier. Each leg has carved wood acanthus leaves on their lower sections. The feet are very unique as they appear, at first glance, to be claw feet. However, they are actually acanthus leaves that have been carved to look like claw feet. The bottom tier ... moreis small and has squared corners with inverted curves. It has a large, carved wood, lidded urn finial in the center. The table is all wood construction. It has a painted and glazed fiinsh with the soft gold glaze being the predominant color. The carved accents have been finished in a darker gold for contrast. It is quite lovely and very nice. The table is sturdy as well. There are no manufacturer's marks but there is a number stamped under the table top(see picture 11) The table is old and dates to the early part of the 20th century. There is some chipped paint in a just a few areas. This exquisite. Old table is in excellent condition for its age. The table measures 26.5" tall. Table comes with two skirted leaf inserts. Inserts still match perfectly. No difference in tone or richness. No sway of any kind in table. Table is in remarkable condition. Minor wear on surface with some dryness of veneer. One small spot where wear is a more advanced(see pic 9) Carved trim around edge is cracked in several places. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique side/accent table. Circa 1930s-1940s, this table is a fantastic example of French Art Deco with some obvious Louis XIV or Empire influences. The table base is gilded iron and combines sleek lines with ornate details. The table has 4 double curved legs that attach to a circular cross piece. The legs have small spherical finials at the ends. The top of the table base is adorned with gorgeous curved iron. A gilded tole drapery and swag pattern is present around the entire upper circumference. Large, dimensional rosettes, also in gilded tole, are attached as accents. The table top is a gorgeous stone(marble/quartz/granite) in a grayish taupe color. It has a soft pattern and is not"busy" The top is marked on the bottom with a large center character and with"W. Port France" printed ... moreon the underside as well. I do not know if the top is original to the base. The base has an inner lip which may have been home to a piece of glass at one time. As it is, the stone sits independently on top of the base. Regardless, this is a stunning table. It is in wonderful condition with very little evidence of age or use. There are some small faded areas to the gilded finish, but these are very minor and do not distract from the piece. The stone is quite heavy. We inherited the table from mother. She inherited from her grandparents who lived in Elmira, NY. We were told it was built in italy or spain in the mid 1800, was bought by great,great grandparents and then given to each generation. It has had very good treatment over the years. Not sure of the original owners. No repairs had to be made through the years due to the care given to it. The brass works was cleaned twenty years ago. Inlay on table is of two birds, autmn leaves. The table is in excellant shape. Value should be at $25,000 or more but is negotiable. My great-great grandparents furnished their two story home, in Elmira, NY in the 1800 area in very expensive, victorian and french style antiques.

This Weiman cocktail table circa 1935. Is super elegant and would look amazing next to a Louis couch or a chair and would suit a Hollywood Regency or classic glam interior. It's in a simplified French Louis XVI gueridon style. The leather is in very good shape(I have cleaned it) with no white marks or serious dings- some wear due to age consistent with use but nothing that detracts to the aesthetic of the table.
