Vintage Industrial Factory Cart Coffee Table
This is a beautiful example of the industrial carts made in the first decade or two of the twentieth century. I have added a salvaged wood top in my professional woodworking shop. Where it was in use for decades. It almost certainly dates to the construction of the industrial complex my shop is in, built in the teens. All the running gear are in good order. We fix the rocking by adding an improved set screw to each end-wheel and ship a wrench with the cart so you can adjust the table just the way you want it. Made by Service Caster and Truck Co. in Albion, MI, was recently removed from Messing Planing Mill in St. Louis. MO. It is fully functional. It is in the exact condition that it was when it was removed from the building. Anything that looks white is gypsum that fell from the leaky roof and stuck to the wheels. It will clean up great. Up for sale is this beautiful antique industrial railroad factory cart with heavy duty cast iron wheels and hardware. This cart has be completely restored- great decor and very functional repurposed as a coffee table. It measures 48" long(53" to metal) by 25 1/2" wide and 15" tall. The distressed wood has lot of character which is all original. The wood was lightly sanded. Stained with Minwax"Cherry" then sealed with two coats of spar urethane. The cast iron wheels and hardware were pressure washed then painted with two coats of rustoleum black. Ask if you have any questions and thank you for looking. these wheels came off of a factory cart. people are using these to build custom coffee tables. cast iron. manufactured by lineberry. 14 3/4" diameter wheels. wheels are 2 1/4" wide. wheels turn. axle is 24" wide and 15/16" diameter. one wheel has a crack a crossed three spokes as shown in the fifth and sixth pictures. there is some play and wear on the axle bushings from being used in a factory. we have several more carts so let us know if you need any more parts or a complete cart.

I have two of the same Identical Carts but have different wooden tops one being very used rustic looking the other has not gotten as much ware they are great for in front of your Coffee. The Industrial brewery carts have not been really cleaned or anything the carts are in original condition. I believe the tops are elm wood cut down in the 1800s from 400 to 500 year old trees old growth trees. Temper glass can be put on the for cleaning the top. Fully restored Lineberry factory cart! Perfect for that industrial/rustic look to be used as coffee tables. These are beautiful pieces and are a wonderful focal point in your living room! In the early 1900's Charles Lineberry started the Lineberry Foundry and Machine Company in North Wilkesboro. North Carolina. Often called railroad carts, these beautiful carts were originally used in railroad depots for transporting trunks, and were later used in furniture factories for moving large pieces from one specialist artisan to the next. As late as the 60's and into the very early 70's the company shipped around 1000 of these carts a week. Each cart is fully disassembled. Cast iron and wood. Cast iron pieces are individually sandblasted. And they are repainted in a flat black paint. Nail are replaced w/ black pyramid head nails. hamilton factory cart hardware kit cast iron coffee table
this hardware came off of a factory cart. hardware only. No wood. people are using these to build custom coffee tables. cast iron. corners are stamped steel. corners are 5 1/2" tall. big wheels are made by Hamilton. big wheels are 12" diameter and 2" wide. axle is 24" wide and 1" diameter. swivel wheels are 12" tall and 5" diameter. one swivel wheel has a chipped edge, see second picture, sold as is. one of the big wheels has cracked spokes and weld repairs, see sixth picture. swivel wheels do not match. we have several more carts so let us know if you need any more parts or a complete cart.
