It is a sort of canyon red color with gold painted accents and trim. The paint has a rustic finish giving the desk plenty of charm and character. There are two drawers that open and close easily and are constructed with dovetailed joints. From the floor to the bottom of the desk ... moremeasures 24" Which is pretty standard and should fit most chairs. This writing desk is quite sturdy and in overall very good condition. There are two cosmetic age splits on the back corners(see pictures) These are a naturally occurring phenomenon that do not affect the structural integrity of the desk. The four tapered legs of the desk are beautifully decorated and end in brass casters. This desk has plenty of rustic charm and would make a lovely addition to any home or office. The piece appears to be made of ash or chestnut and is extremely heavy and bulky. The top is 1.25" thick and the posts are 3.5" square. The table has unusual form with a lower shelf set high and two keyed through tenons on the sides. There are double pins at the top and bottom and the legs have a nice taper towards the bottom. Possibly Edwardian era desk or library table is in excellent condition. I have owned it since 1980 and have not altered the finish. Although it may have been refinished prior to my ownership. This desk is very sturdy. The dimensions are 40" long X 25 1/4" deep X 28 1/4" high. Nice chunky brass hardware is complete and original. This desk is constructed of solid wood.no veneers.which I think is flame mahogany. The dovetailed drawers are constucted of what appears to be bird's eye maple bottoms(which is a very high quality wood to be used on drawer interiors) and oak sides. There is one center drawer and two deeper. More narrow drawers on the right side. Drawers all work smoothly. There is a platform at the lower level of the desk. The four feet are carved animal-type. Here is a special opportunity to own a really fabulous early twentieth century American walnut dining table that has a wonderful story and has been in my family since 1979. My husband. Then"my boyfriend" was working construction for a contractor on Long Island for the summer during college that year and when the two of them dug this old table out of a basement there in Rockville Centre, he was lucky enough to have the opportunity to buy it from the owner. He later paid to have it professionally cleaned up including having the top refinished and having a custom table pad made to protect the top as well. For the next 35 years we used this table as our formal family dining table, the centerpiece when celebrating holidays and special events with our three children and many friends over the years. Now we are ready to let it go, and it ... moreis ready to make a statement and add to the memories in your home or place of business today. The refinished top is gorgeous and shows off the beautiful walnut wood grains which I attempt to show in my series of photographs. The heavy carved edging and the large turned legs on a split base with bun feet really make for a striking presentation. The table pads are well used and a bit tattered at their edges but certainly are a great asset for use under a table cloth to protect the top. As I show on the underside of the table. The mechanism shows this table is designed to spread to a much longer length, perhaps 10-12 feet, if someone were to have leaves remade. This terrific table measures 60 inches long by 45 inches wide. The table stands 30 inches tall. In addition to making a great dining table. This wonderful old walnut table would also work well as a library or study table for home use or perhaps a law office or other professional work environment. vintage FAUX BOOK ACCENT / SIDE / END LIBRARY TABLE radio shakespeare ANTIQUE
This is a fantastic old wooden side table. One side has faux leather books. The other side has a door that opens. There are small open shelves on both ends. Aged brass paw& claw feet and a beautiful brass pull. I believe this housed an old tube radio at one time as there are two round holes in the bottom for cords or wires. The books read, THE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE, RADIO ART. The table is approx 27" tall, 24" wide and 15" deep. There is some minor damage to the finish, but does not really detract too much because the finish is speckled and busy. There is a tiny gouge in the bottom of the cabinet door. The piece has great appeal and could be used in many different rooms and for many different purposes. the party we acquired it from were using the shelf in a different room. there is an old repair to one leg being pointed out in the last photos as is a separation in the top also. this table measures 42" long x 28 1/2" inches deep and 30 1/4" inches tall and with the top on it. ANTIQUE c1915 FRENCH ENGLISH OAK LIBRARY ENTRY TABLE BARLEY TWIST CANE INSET
We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique library/entry table! This stunning, French or English inspired table, manufactured by the Knoxville Chair and Table Company dates to around 1915. It features French Country design with quarter sawn oak plank top, barley twist legs, and cane insets in the skirted sections. The oak ranges from golden to dark and the graining is exceptional. The table has a single large drawer on the front side with original, ornate, teardrop pulls. The sides and the back of the table repeat the skirted and cane inset design so the table is beautiful from every angle. The bottom of the table features braced legs and center stretcher bar. The table has the original flat screws and bolts still intact. The manufacturer's sticker is fixed inside the drawer and a partial sticker is still attached under the table ... moretop. The Knoxville Chair Company, of Knoxville, Tennessee, was founded in 1901 and closed in 1935. This table predates their"Art Deco" pieces which were much more modern looking. The table is in very good condition with very little signs of age or use. There is one hole in one of the cane sections(see photo 6) It is very hard to discern and certainly does not distract from the table. The table top is in good condition. There is one ring where a vase or something sat, but, because of the grain pattern, it is not glaring or distracting. The table has a more"oiled" finish as opposed to a varnished finish. It is very sturdy and well constructed. STUNNING! The table measures as follows: It is 29.5" tall. 42.5" wide and 26.5" deep(front to back) Shipping via UPS FREIGHT at a cost of $150.00. Original Antique Charles Limbert Arts & Crafts Mission Library Table Desk 1910
Fabulous Charles Limbert Quartersawn Oak Library Table. I believe the finish is original as well as the hardware(obviously screws& washers have been replaced) This is not a claim I make lightly. Please see pics! Burned Limbert Arts& Crafts stamp on inside of drawer on the left. Measures 42” wide x 30” deep x 29 1/2” height. Condition: Pretty amazing. No cracks anywhere. It's a very solid. Sturdy, handsome construction. Flaws: On the top of the desk there is a spot on the right that is darker(see pic#9) where it looks like someone probably sat an ink bottle then tried to remove a bit of ink. It looks like it's been there for a very long time. It's not an eyesore but needs to be pointed out. There is also a very small gouge or nick on the right side(see pic#12) On the left leg there is a strange"mystery" spot(flat) ... morewith a tiny spot of paint next to it(see pic#10) Lastly. On the back edge of the top you see a little paint where someone put it up against a wall when there was wet paint(see pic#11) The inside drawer does have ink stains. If you'd like a pic I can certainly send it. Pic#6 is a close-up of the finish on the drawer(outside) to help uphold my claims of it being the original finish. I'm really just trying to point out anything I see as a flaw no matter how small. I've made no attempt to oil it or clean it with any chemicals. 1901 Antique Solid Quarter Sawn Oak Oval Library Table with Makers Mark
This table has beautiful quarter sawn tiger oak wood. It measures 36" X 24" and stands 29.5" tall. This table has a manufacturer stamp in the drawer by its maker. The Brandt Cabinet Works, Hagerstown, Maryland. The pedestal supports are smooth lined. It is a family heirloom, belonging to my grandparents. They had many oak pieces, but I believe this was probably one of the finer. My mother& I are in the process of combining two homes and just can't keep everything. Please look at the photos. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL antique table. This is a stunning table with intricate carved details. The table is a fine example of Moorish Fretwork and. According to a published expert in this field, was probably made by Moses Younglove Ransom in Cleveland or Frederick Rode in New York City. The table is oak with a quarter sawn. Plank top and carved, twist trim. The table has turned legs with an interesting, repeated pattern. The feet are rounded and nondescript. The table features a very beautiful, rare, double stretcher. The stretchers have turned wood, stick and ball style, supports that lead to a square accent of barley twist(spiral) spindles that are woven together. This is an intricate design and is superbly achieved. The table is old and dates to the around 1885. There are no manufacturer's marks or stamps. The table ... moreis in very good condition with only minor signs of age or use. There is a circular water ring on the table top that is not too distracting. One of planks of the table top has separated from shrinkage/age and there is a space. It does not affect the table in any manner. The table is sturdy with a normal amount of slight movement. This is a fabulous table of unique design. On April 19. A wonderful ebay member contributed the following: I've only seen a couple of these tables before. I own two of them both stained dark and probably mahogany. One is identical to this design and the other only has one of the woven shelves but the legs. are also barley twist. I am mostly convinced that these were made by Moses Younglove Ransom in Cleveland. Ohio. The main reason for this attribution is the tapered spindles used in the woven shelves. I have seen these identical spindles used in stairway balustrades that I believe were made by the C.S.Ransom Company. I found several of these tables in Cleveland antique stores that also had good collections of Ransom's Moorish Fretwork screens, where I bought one of mine. This beautiful old table is solid and extra-long. Based on its construction, I’m guessing that it’s around 100 years old. I have found no identifying marks. Overall Dimensions: 95 ¾” x 41 ½” x 30” L x W x H) Table Top: 93” x 39 ½” Distance from floor to bottom of the frame: 24 ½” Weight: 163 lbs. Each of the 4 massive legs is made up of 3 or 4 pieces that were glued together before being turned. The leg diameter about halfway up is 4 ¾” And the foot diameter is 5 ¼” There are a few scratches on the top. As you would expect to find on a table that was used for decades. The frame of the table has been repaired in a couple of places, and near one ... morecorner, glue is visible along the outside of the lower edge(see photo#6) There are a few vertical“stripes” around the perimeter, where dark stain ran down the sides. Two of the boards that make up the table top have separated slightly near one end, and the separation extends for a little more than a foot. Each leg is secured by a single square nut.
