Dating to around 1910. This lovely quite petite table is constructed of solid oak and has a beautiful tiger grain pattern. It has a warm. Mellow patina to its honey brown colouring. The table features fantastic grain patterns to the top surface. Achieved through the use of oak planks, rather than one piece of timber. It also gives it a more rustic, casual dining feel. It stands on lovely turned and fluted legs and has a substantial shaped stretcher base. The table will comfortably seat 4, or 6 people if smallish chairs are used. The table measures 120cm long. 89cm wide and the table surface is 77cm high. The table is in very good antique condition. Structurally strong and robust. It does have some scratching and bumps to the table surface, but these only add to the charm and character of the piece, and provide that more rustic feel- very chic! As with all quality antique and vintage furniture, age-appropriate wear and character marks should be expected. I actually purchased two tables. One was round(which I already sold) and this one. They both had been stored in I believe an attic, for they were very dusty and dirty due to being stored for many years. This table appears to have quite a few layers of varnish or stain on it and when they stored it I believe they put a vinyl table cloth on it, the kind with the cotton or felt like lining and through the years of heat and the layers of varnish it has on it the lining somewhat stuck to the top of the table. When I went to clean it up the fuzzy stuff would not come off no matter what I did so we thought we would try a spot with some paint stripper and it come off. That is ... morewhy the spot is on the top. My intentions then was to strip it off and restain it but never had the time to do it and hated to see this beautiful table sit around and need the space so I am selling it as it is. As you can see on the spot that we stripped under all the varnish that was on it the grain is beautiful and on the leaf, it is the natural color. This table is on wheels except for the center one is missing. But I should have one somewhere around here that I will put on it if I do. Also there is a piece of wood that is off on one of the legs as shown in the pictures. Other than that it is very nice. Once it is restained or whatever one wants to go about finishing the top it will look awesome. The table measures 42" square x 30" tall without the leaf and 25-1/2" from the ground to the bottom of the table. The leaf is approx. 12" wide. I have provided several pictures to view. Authentic Antique 1932'HOOSIER' Tiger Oak Dining Table* This is a genuine Hoosier Tiger Oak dining room table with turned legs. It was made by the Hoosier Kitchen Equipment Company of New Castle. Indiana. It has a hidden extension leaf in the center of the table that is connected to hinges on each side. When the sections are pulled apart, the hidden leaf is exposed. It is then raised and jointed together to each section. Underneath, there is a gear that turns on two tracks with teeth as the sections are moved back and forth with ease. There is a metal stamped plate underneath above the gear area. That patent plate shows that this unique design was created& engineered by the Hoosier Kitchen Equipment Company. TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THIS TABLE- IT IS SIMPLY AMAZING& BEAUTIFUL. It measures 48" x 48" in its smallest, non-extended(i.e. shortest form with no leaves) It comes with SIX 12" x 48" leaves which extend the table to 48" x 120" INCREDIBLY. When fully extended. It can reach a whopping 13 FEET 2 1/2" LONG! I am not clear on exactly how old the table is but would estimate 1880- 1900. The Leaves fit perfectly and work well. The Table is in overall BEAUTIFUL condition with a few table top scratches/ character marks(see photos) certainly to be expected due to age and use but nothing effecting the tables beauty. The Tables 6 Legs rest on rolling casters for ease of movement. They ... moreare easily removable or replaceable. The Table is 30" tall and I estimate(just a guess) it weighs. Including the 6 leaves@ 100- 125 pounds. I would say not all of the leaves are original based on grain pattern but it still looks awesome none the less. NOTE: The 2 ornate end leg sets are all one piece and easily removable by 2 bolts. I mention this for a couple of reasons. First. The Leg Sets are reversible and can be used either facing in or facing out. I have take a photo with the legs set each way so carefully examine them so you see this effect. It could be just a matter of personal preference as to how you would want to set it up but it is easier to have someone sitting in a chair at the end of the table with the legs facing inward and additionally there is some nice cared detail to be seen(see photo) when they are in this originally intended position. Also, I can dismantle the table for shipping, cost and safety purposes and it would save some space. I am selling this wonderful Tiger Oak table that can be used for a kitchen or dining area. It is a dramatic piece and everyone comments on it when they come in. As you can see. I used it in a kitchen nook with a window seat before I changed decor. The table is 45" diameter. I have no idea how old it is but there is a sign on the bottom that says_Co. Montoursville, PA. I can't read the first part of the sign clearly. It is in good antique condition with a couple of bumps that could be retouched. See the next to last photo and look toward the center. Can be a table for two with leaves down. With leaves extended it sits four comfortably. I dont have extension leaves. But the middle opens to accept leaves and accommodate a large dinner party. It has a fifth leg as pictured in the center to administer weight evenly when leaves are inserted. The measurements when leaves are down is 41 1/2" W x 25" L x 30 1/2" T. With the drop leaves extended it is 41 1/2" W x 52 1/2" L. It has minimal wear to finish from practical use, it looks as though it has been refinished.
