It is a sort of canyon red color with gold painted accents and trim. The paint has a rustic finish giving the desk plenty of charm and character. There are two drawers that open and close easily and are constructed with dovetailed joints. Possibly Edwardian era desk or library table is in excellent condition. I have owned it since 1980 and have not altered the finish. Although it may have been refinished prior to my ownership. This desk is very sturdy. The dimensions are 40" long X 25 1/4" deep X 28 1/4" high. Nice chunky brass hardware is complete and original. This desk is constructed of solid wood.no veneers.which I think is flame mahogany. The dovetailed drawers are constucted of what appears to be bird's eye maple bottoms(which is a very high quality wood to be used on drawer interiors) and oak sides. Awesome looking quarter sawn oak library table with carvings and turned legs
This listing is for the awesome looking antique quarter sawn oak(tiger oak) library table pictured. It is a beautiful piece of furniture with nice ornate carvings on all four sides and ornate carved pieces attached to the stretcher base. The legs are nicely turned. Dimensions are 45 1/2" wide by 27" deep by 29" high. The finish is medium dark and is in very nice condition. I believe it was refinished many years ago(we have had it for about 15 years and haven't done anything to the finish. I have included a two pictures showing repairs on the two carved pieces that attach the stretcher base to the rear legs on each side. They are old repairs and they are each very strong. I will put a dab of Old English furniture restorer on each repair to help conceal the repairs but I did want to picture them before doing so to make you ... moreaware of those conditions. A little more interesting than many I have seen. It is labelled F.S. Harmon& Co. FS Harmon is a Tacoma based company that made furniture in the early 1900s. It is labelled on the bottom(pic#4) This library table dates to the 1910s to 1920s. An interesting thing on this desk. Is that the drawer has a hidden spring activated lock below the drawer which is original. You pull the spring knob down(pic#3) and you can open and close the drawer. If you don't pull the spring knob, it doesn't open. Condition is fair to good for age. Finish is old and possibly original. I noticed an area on the top wear the finish is quite worn. Then"my boyfriend" was working construction for a contractor on Long Island for the summer during college that year and when the two of them dug this old table out of a basement there in Rockville Centre, he was lucky enough to have the opportunity to buy it from the owner. He later paid to have it professionally cleaned up including having the top refinished and having a custom table pad made to protect the top as well. For the next 35 years we used this table as our formal family dining table, the centerpiece when celebrating holidays and special events with our three children and many friends over the years. Tobey Stickley Oak Arts and Crafts Library or Trestle Table
Here is a wonderful Arts and Crafts oak trestle or library table fresh from a Nebraska estate. I believe it was made by Tobey Furniture but it is not shown in the Tobey book. It has a similar cutout on the ends as some others in the Tobey book. The top is a full one inch thick and has clip corners. The table is 42 inches by 25 1/2 inches and is 29 1/4 inches tall. It has a bottom shelf with a cutout at each end. The splayed ends give this a wonderful look. The bottom shelf has through tenon with pegs. It is in excellent condition. No stains and just some minor scratches which I have tried to show in the photos. There are some touched up scratches on one side shown in photos 3 and 4. The bottom of the feet are slightly dry and could be touched up with finish but there is no rot or deterioration of the wood. We inherited the table from mother. She inherited from her grandparents who lived in Elmira, NY. We were told it was built in italy or spain in the mid 1800, was bought by great,great grandparents and then given to each generation. It has had very good treatment over the years. Not sure of the original owners. No repairs had to be made through the years due to the care given to it. The brass works was cleaned twenty years ago. Inlay on table is of two birds, autmn leaves. The table is in excellant shape. Value should be at $25,000 or more but is negotiable. My great-great grandparents furnished their two story home, in Elmira, NY in the 1800 area in very expensive, victorian and french style antiques.

vintage FAUX BOOK ACCENT / SIDE / END LIBRARY TABLE radio shakespeare ANTIQUE
This is a fantastic old wooden side table. One side has faux leather books. The other side has a door that opens. There are small open shelves on both ends. Aged brass paw& claw feet and a beautiful brass pull. I believe this housed an old tube radio at one time as there are two round holes in the bottom for cords or wires. The books read, THE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE, RADIO ART. The table is approx 27" tall, 24" wide and 15" deep. There is some minor damage to the finish, but does not really detract too much because the finish is speckled and busy. There is a tiny gouge in the bottom of the cabinet door. here is an antique trestle table from the early 1900s in the Mission Arts& Crafts period style in great condition. The piece is made of solid oak with a good old finish but we do not believe it is the original finish. The table is made of very thick and solid wood. The piece has great appeal and could be used in many different rooms and for many different purposes. the party we acquired it from were using the shelf in a different room. there is an old repair to one leg being pointed out in the last photos as is a separation in the top also. this table measures 42" long x 28 1/2" inches deep and 30 1/4" inches tall and with the top on it. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique library/entry table! This stunning, French or English inspired table, manufactured by the Knoxville Chair and Table Company dates to around 1915. It features French Country design with quarter sawn oak plank top, barley twist legs, and cane insets in the skirted sections. The oak ranges from golden to dark and the graining is exceptional. The table has a single large drawer on the front side with original, ornate, teardrop pulls. The sides and the back of the table repeat the skirted and cane inset design so the table is beautiful from every angle. The bottom of the table features braced legs and center stretcher bar. The table has the original flat screws and bolts still intact. The manufacturer's sticker is fixed inside the drawer and a partial sticker is still attached under the table ... moretop. The Knoxville Chair Company, of Knoxville, Tennessee, was founded in 1901 and closed in 1935. This table predates their"Art Deco" pieces which were much more modern looking. The table is in very good condition with very little signs of age or use. There is one hole in one of the cane sections(see photo 6) It is very hard to discern and certainly does not distract from the table. The table top is in good condition. There is one ring where a vase or something sat, but, because of the grain pattern, it is not glaring or distracting. The table has a more"oiled" finish as opposed to a varnished finish. The points of the table top align with the corners of the hexagon skirt. The column is generous with turned wood design. The base is tripod with large, cabriole legs and rounded feet. There is one drawer, located in the skirted section, with a French wreath drawer pull. This is a very beautiful table with exceptional artistic enhancements. STUNNING! The table is very heavy and sturdy. It is in very good condition with minor paint chipping in a few areas. The table is generously sized and measures 28.5" tall. The top is 31" in diameter. Original Antique Charles Limbert Arts & Crafts Mission Library Table Desk 1910
Fabulous Charles Limbert Quartersawn Oak Library Table. I believe the finish is original as well as the hardware(obviously screws& washers have been replaced) This is not a claim I make lightly. Please see pics! Burned Limbert Arts& Crafts stamp on inside of drawer on the left. Measures 42” wide x 30” deep x 29 1/2” height. Condition: Pretty amazing. No cracks anywhere. It's a very solid. Sturdy, handsome construction. Flaws: On the top of the desk there is a spot on the right that is darker(see pic#9) where it looks like someone probably sat an ink bottle then tried to remove a bit of ink. It looks like it's been there for a very long time. It's not an eyesore but needs to be pointed out. There is also a very small gouge or nick on the right side(see pic#12) On the left leg there is a strange"mystery" spot(flat) ... morewith a tiny spot of paint next to it(see pic#10) Lastly. On the back edge of the top you see a little paint where someone put it up against a wall when there was wet paint(see pic#11) The inside drawer does have ink stains. If you'd like a pic I can certainly send it. Pic#6 is a close-up of the finish on the drawer(outside) to help uphold my claims of it being the original finish. I'm really just trying to point out anything I see as a flaw no matter how small. I've made no attempt to oil it or clean it with any chemicals. This is a gorgeous oval oak library table in original condition. Dating from the 1910s. It has the oval design on the top, and scrolling ... morebeveled edge shape on the bottom shelf, four long cabriole legs that come down into an empire curl foot. Inside the 3.5 inch skirt is a dovetail drawer, right in the center, and it is of tiger sawn oak construction throughout. The overall size is 38 inches wide, 25.5 inches deep, and 30 inches high. The overall condition is good, and you can see where the solid top is laminated together, although it is very tight and sturdy. It’s a great original piece, but if you want it restored or refinished, it can be easily done at home, but we will be happy to give you a quote. This is an original pencil drawing of a proposed library table. Exquisitely drawn. It's captioned"Suggestion for Mr. R.M. Lull, Duncan Duncan& Conover, Inc. 2031 Locust St. Philadelphia. The building is today a luxury apartment building, first built in the 1930s. This drawing may have been made by a design firm for a lobby area, perhaps? There is one crimped corner, but no foxing or other damage. I wonder if this elegant table ever got made? US postage is $3.
