tiger oak victorian plant stand knoxville tennessee estate find
This is a very sound small plant stand from the victorian era. It stands less than 2 feet tall. And is 12 inches square. It is old, as the company was started at the turn of the last century. It says it was made in Knoxville Tennessee on the part of the sticker that is left on the bottom. As I do not know how to professionally refinish antiques without making them lose value, I have left it as I found it from the estate. You could use this for a multitude of different things and area due to its smaller size. The character here is interesting. It looks very much like a homemade piece and not anything that was mass produced or manufactured. The wood here is solid oak so it has a nice weight to it. It has been painted a chocolate brown and some of the paint is beginning to wear off. I can see nails at the top of the piece and some of the oak grain. It has nice detailing of wood gingerbread throughout and a decidedly folk art piece likely from the turn of the century or so. Table French Curved Legs Victorian Antique VTG Oak End Plant Fern Stand Taboret
Antique/ Vintage Small Oak 2 Tier Table with Victorian French Curved Legs End. Plant, Fern Stand, Taboret 18 1/4”high x 13” diameter round top with lower 6 1/2” square shelf Round top is made in one part. And sits on the legs. The legs gracefully curve and hold a 6 1/2” square shelf, approx 4 1/4” from the bottom. The legs are secured in a groove cut into the underneath of the round top. Crossbars are sturdily notched into each other. And sit 4 1/2" from base. Good condition structurally. I believe this is oak wood stained in a dark brown. Some staining on top. Use in antique condition or refinish. See photos and ask questions.
