Antique Vintage c1930s Maple 3" Butcher Block Table Chicago Salvage Metal Base
This old butcher block table from the 1930s was salvaged from a Chicago meat packer and is in great vintage condition. The top has been sanded down and coated several times with tung oil to bring back its great sheen. Tung oil is an organic oil that is safe for food. Dings. Gouges and a few splits on the top are a character adding bonus and are consistent with age and use. The metal base is sturdy and stout and I believe the legs adjust in height(I didn’t try, but it looks like they screw up or down in order to level the top. It measures 36" w x 24" w x 34 ¼”h top is 3” thick. There is a stamp on the underside of the top that is not readable, but I included a photo of it anyway. This old butcher block is said to have come from an A&P market butcher shop. No longer around, here in upstate New York. It's solid throughout. Hardwood, but I do not know what kind; I have a faint recollection of someone telling me it's maple but I cannot be positive. It shows obvious wear from years of use in the butcher shop and has the signature'scoop' areas where the most use took place. The photos were taken only from the outward facing side of the block because it was impossible for me to move it in order to get varied views. It has six turned legs. This heavy. Large table once had wood vises attached to each corner, I bought it at an estate sale but I believe this originated at a trade school. The wood is lighter colored than it appears in the photos. This Antique Butcher Block Table is the real deal! I believe this antique butcher block table is over 100 years old. Although I really do not know how old it is. There are no markings any where on it. I do know that it was left in my house that was built in 1904. This could have belonged to Henry Rentschler of Hamilton, Ohio. It is in unrestored, unmolested condition. It does have several nicks, chipped wood, and chop marks. The top also appears to be stand with blood. This only adds to the appeal and is part of the antique patina. It appears to still be in the same condition as when it was last used. I have not cleaned it or washed it off, it has a unique spicy aroma that simply adds to its patina. However, I can clean it off prior to pickup or shipping. However the forth(4 ... moreth) side still has to be worked- sanded as there is residue of what appears to be old glue from which I presume must be left from something that was attached. Perhaps some sort of backsplash- back board allowing for an easy clean-up when this work table was in active use… This butcher block top measures approx. 2-5/8” thick x 70-3/4” x 30” THE BASE: 67” x 28” cleat to cleat approx. measurements x 31” tall base alone/ The base has the original older painted surface. If one appreciates this look it is a battle ship grey that has aged nicely. Kind of an old washed out look with white paint peeking through. this painted surface could perhaps be preserved to enjoy that old look. There are two mounting cleats at the top of the base one of which has an old“sliver” of wood missing… this will not be seen when top is in place. One leg has an early scarf joint? Like repair that is evident but this early repair is on a back leg and is solid and sturdy! 1950's Mid Century Butcher Block Craftsman Table and 4 Chairs, Cast Iron Base
Hi and thanks for looking at my auction! This dining table is just really cool. It is circa 1950's and one piece I really thought of keeping. This table was originally used in a series of model homes in Huntington Beach. California that were built in the early 1950’s. The next owner bought one of the model homes and kept the table in the house for the next 63 years. This table and chairs is in such great vintage condition it’s hard to believe. The base of the table and framework of the chairs seem to be cast iron. The seating is leather fastened in place by flathead screws(see pictures) and the butcher block top is in fantastic condition. The table is solid and the chairs are surprisingly comfortable because of the leather sling like design. The pictures just to not do this set justice. Vintage Industrial Table - Mid Century - Butcher Block - Desk - Workbench
This is a cool old metal and butcher block wood top industrial table or desk. It has three metal drawers. And the word“LYON” embossed onto the drawer assembly. The finish is a mix of light green paint. And patches of dark green paint, and a fair amount of rust spots throughout. The drawer assembly is grey. The wooden top is a butcher block style. Some of the pieces of wood on the top are slightly warped or uneven, and as you can see in the photos, the finish and patina of the wood top is very patchy and has various shades of wood colors. The right end of the wood top is a lighter shade than the rest of the top– it was sitting outside with another table covering most of it except the area on the right, and is a bit faded. Very sweet find from a hoarders house! Antique 1930/40's maple butcher block table.Very nice and super solid condition. I am told this came out of a meat packing plant"Down Neck" Newark N.J. The table has been thoroughly disinfected with bleach and power washed to remove years of grime.Then sanded and given a light coat of food grade oil to preserve the aged golden patina. Dimensions are 60L X 24 1/2D X 34H. Please look at the photos carefully and please note this is a well used table that has spots that are worn due to heavy use.Does not affect the overall appearence or structure. South Carolina VINTAGE SOLID BUTCHER BLOCK TABLE- SIX LEG- 60" X 30" 12" Thick& 34 3/4" Tall( Legs had extensions added at some point of it's life) This is unrestored and just the way it came out of the store many years ago. I believe it's was made in the 30's or 40's It came out of a Red& White Grocery Store. This is extremely heavy and will require at least 4 strong guys to lift. I will provide two of the guys and you provide the other two. A truck with a lift would make it pretty easy and then maybe 3 guys could do it. This is located in Greenville SC. Zip 29607 and is offered for local pickup only. I will work with a third party carrier but they must come to house to pick up. It is presently in the Garage so it will be easy to get out.

Vintage Industrial 8' Dining Conference Table Cast Iron Legs Butcher Block 1930s
You're looking at a custom-made. Vintage industrial dining/ conference table with gorgeous age. Seats 10 adults comfortably. Would also work really well as a retail counter. The 1.75" thick salvaged butcher block top has been cleaned. Sanded, stained in walnut and given 3 applications of polyurethane to seal it. The heavy-duty top shows incredible character and wear including light marks, dings etc. The 80+ year old cast iron legs came off an old factory machine and show gorgeous age and patina. There are 2 steel cross supports that are easily unscrewed/ removed and will not affect the stability of this piece. A heavy, rock-solid CUSTOM piece. Butcher Block Table Antique Old Vintage Kitchen Maple Hard Wood Solid Very Go
Antique. Amazingly well built butcher block in super nice condition, notice all the dovetail glue joints on the entire top(last 2 pix below) and the dent free metal caps. If you have been patient and waiting for a good useable butcher block. Your wait is over. I have sold several of these over the years. but never one in this good of condition, notice all the nice clean beveled edges and corners. As you will see in the pix below the top is not perfect but it is not all chewed up and there are plenty or level spots for placing objects. The glue joints on the legs have opened a little with age but they are still good and solid and should not be a problem. The legs are little shiny because I just got done putting a bit of tung oil on them. I did the same to the top the day before so it is dry for the pix. The block is 30"x30"x 29.5" ... moretall. Very heavy and very solid, this is local pick up only, however if arrangements can be met prior to the sale we may be able to deliver for $1.00 a loaded mile. This item came from a butcher shop in Collinsville IL. I do not know the name of the shop. But it is no longer in business. Maker unknown. Age unknown. I believe the wood is maple. Legs come out. Pics are with the item on its side- too heavy to lift for pics. Normally butcher blocks are sanded down to to keep them flat. This one was not. This one has fabulous character with its'swooped' in top. The item was very well used. Not mint- used. Shows age. Wear, tear, holes, cracks, dents, dings, discoloration, spots, stains, missing wood, chipping, other colors, etc. Not mint- very used. Measures about 29" x 29" I cannot stress to you how heavy this item is- it took 3 men to pick up and put in the bed of a truck. Local pick up only. Please bring packing material.
