I purchased these from an antique dealer in Carmel several years ago. Who had lived in Bali and Indonesia and had these shipped over many years ago. They stand stand 17" 17.5" tall(one a tad bigger than other) Including a 2" thick top, ... moreapproximately 50" in circumference, measured around the middle. Base is about 3" thick and measures about 14" with octagonal corners. Top measures 19"x 20" for one, other is 18.5"x 19" These are beyond fabulous for tables! They are so heavy and solid. I would guess they weigh at least 100 pounds plus, or more. Original paint, pinks, yellows, greens, more, all deeply carved with the ancanthus leaves, portion of a face in one. Symbolic I am sure, but I only know that they are antique, solid hand carved, with beautifully weathered old natural rustic paint. They are carved all the way around. I cannot hardly move to photo! Beyond shabby chic! Fabulous patina! The natural wear of salvage but that is their beauty! One side on each has a crack that doesn't go through that only adds to the patina. Set of 3 Vintage Antique Cherry Hardwood Nesting Tables End Tables No Reserve
Up for sale I have a set of 3 beautiful nesting tables. I really don't know much about them. I got them in a storage auction. They are all solid wood! no cheap particle board reproduction pieces. I don't know what brand they are. They all have the same part number on the underside(see pics) They look like cherry to me but i'm no wood expert so look at the pics and judge for yourself. They look older and I was told they are"queen anne" style. I have no idea what that means) They are very nice looking tables that would go nice with pretty much any decor. They are also in very nice shape. I have taken pics of every flaw I noticed. The largest table has one nick/scratch on the front face but it pretty much dissapeared with a little old english polish. You really can't see it unless your looking for it. I took the picture ... morebefore I polished it so you can see it at its very worst) and the smallest of the 3 tables has 2 imperfections on the top surface. 1 is mostly a natural imperfection from a knot in the wood. the other is a scratch. These also virtually dissappear with a little old english. I took pics of these before polishing them as well) Other than that the only marks on them are light scratches in the finish coat from things being set on them over the years. Nothing that really stands out. Sizes are as follows(1- Largest- 23" long x 16" wide x 22" tall) 2 Mid-size- 17" long x 14" wide x 20-1/2" tall) 3- smallest- 11" square top x 19-1/2" tall) This truly is a beautiful set. The three piece set is in amazingly EXCELLENT condition! Each piece features a three legged empire design. Pillared on a black wooden base the legs of each piece are made of black metal and brass. The tables are made of wood with removable genuine Italian Carrara marble tops. The largest piece of marble is signed. I didn't check for a stamp on the underside of the marble on the end tables. But the set is all original matching marble) The edges of the tables have a brass trim. The lamps are removable as well and both are in working condition(see photo below of lights on) with their original wiring and cords(see photo below) To hook up the lamps you twist two wires together ... moreto make the electrical connection. We are pleased to offer this exceptional pair of antique nightstands or side tables. This pair dates to around 1940. They are made of mahogany and have been painted white and distressed. The pair are elegant and sleek with a low profile. They feature a two tier design with open backs. They are French styled. Art Deco era, and have elongated lower sections with curved fronts. There have decorative square, raised wood pieces on the skirt of the lower tier. These have been left in the original finish to contrast with the paint. The legs are lovely in Duncan Phyfe style. Town Square Revere Colonial furniture by Northwest Chair Company. NW Chair Co operated from 1900 until the early 1950's and were based out of Tacoma. Washington. This is a set of two solid wood step end tables. These are beautiful pieces considering they are 60 years or older. It is in original condition with a some scratches and scuffs. There is no structural damage. No cracks. Very beautiful, sturdy, heavy pieces. These are great examples of mid century furniture! All pieces have partial labels affixed to bottom. We are pleased to offer this beautiful pair of antique(early 20th century) petite. French styled tables. These beautiful tables are mahogany and have a crackled and chipping, painted finish. The tables have tiered tops with turned wood supports. The tables have turned wood columns and Duncan Phyfe legs. The tops are in the original wood finish with no paint. The pair is quite lovely. They are in very good, antique condition. The tops have some evidence of use, i.e. water marks, and some scratches. These are not distracting and blend quite nicely with the character of the tables. One of the table tops shows the seam where the wood was connected. It is not cracked or loose, and the top is quite sturdy. The tops have a good coat of polyurethane. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL and RARE pair of antique. Old vintage(1940s) demilune nightstands/tables by Drexel. This pair is from a rare collection called REVERIA CHERRY. The pair have exquisite lines and ornate, carved details. They are"open" in their design(telephone table design) with a single drawer beneath the open shelf area. They feature a bow front as well as a combination of concave and bow sides. There are carved floral medallions inside recessed areas just below the table tops. Carved shells accent the tops of the beautiful cabriole legs. The feet have large ball/sphere accents. The tables are of the finest quality with solid wood construction. The drawers have dovetail joints instead of staples or nails/screws. The finish is original and is somewhat unique. It is antiqued(glazed) finish which a cream color ... morebase and a golden chocolate brushed over the cream. I could not find any information online regarding these pieces. I called Drexel Heritage and was told that this collection(pre Drexel Heritage) was produced by Drexel in the late 1940s. This collection predates their very popular, Mid Century, Touraine collection. The two collections are somewhat similar but the Reveria collection definitely has a more elegant and authentic French design. These tables/nightstands are quite striking. They are in very good condition with only minor signs of age/use. The finish has some surface scuffs and minor chips which add the aged character of the pieces. This could be resolved easily if you so desired. The tables are quite sturdy and are structurally excellent. The pair measures 28.25" tall. The are 20" wide and 13.5" front to back. The opened shelf area is 8.7/8" tall. 14.5" wide and 12" front to back. The drawers have an interior measurement of 11.25" wide, 1" tall and 12" front to back. They are nesting tables wood with genuine antique hand painted Rako Czechoslovakia Tile victorian fashion scenes on hand painted tile, tile is marked Rako on back; unfortunately, the glue has become loose and the large table has tile that fell out and broke, the smaller table is intact but tile is loose, please see all photos for condition. these need a clean up and though we will send what we have, i can not promise all of the pieces of the missing tiles, selling as is. The tables nest perfectly one larger rectangle on top of the other smaller square table. Wood has no chips or cracks. Normal wear on bottom of feet. legs are carved beautifully. After doing research we come to find only a couple other items on the internet which were very expensive! And found just a little bit info on James B. Henderson The James B Henderson Furniture Company was located in Washington DC in 1903- to the mid century. They sold fine quality furniture to most of the citizens of Washington in the early 20thC. These two beautiful tables were purchased new by my grandparents in the 1940s. They were so proud of the master craftsmanship these tables came with. They've been in my family ever since and due to circumstances. I have to sell them.Here is some history of the Louis Scalera furniture manufacturing company:Louis Scalera was born on February 24, 1894 in Maddoloni, Caserta Providence, Italy. He immigrated to the United States circa 1911 and married Carmela Bove. Louis started a furniture manufacturing business and was also an artist. He was known for his master craftsmanship and the affluent of the tri-state area sought out his beautiful works of art. Most of his work was done using high quality mahogany.
