This table base measures 24 x 56 inches and has a solid cast iron base, made by Morse Manufacturing of Rochester,N.Y. This 1920s ISIS German industrial cast iron drafting table is all complete and in great condition. It features the original pencil tray. Drafting arm, 5” locking casers, C clamps for holding down an art board with a smooth surface. The counter weights are perfectly balanced for ease of motion when raising, lowering, or tilting the top. The top can be angled horizontally flat, vertically straight, and everything in between. It also features a foot peddle for locking-in the correct height of the table and a hand knob for locking-in the correct angle. Although these tables are typically heavy and difficult to move, the wheels make ease of movement simple and quick. Antique Machine Age Industrial Cast Iron Drafting Coffee Table Base Steampunk
Here we have a great antique cast iron base with hand cranks on each side that turn a gear. The gear comes out a little bit above to top of the table base I imagine it would make for a cool adjustable drafting style coffee table. As you can see from the photos these legs are a bit top heavy. I put a small piece of cardboard to hold the two legs together and they stood up fine no problem so I don't think there would be any issue once a top is crafted for them. The bottom of the legs can also be mounted so this could either be mounted to the floor or even on top of a taller table to craft or even the wall. These legs stand about 18 inches tall not counting the gears and cranks.

Also please note that I have the board on wrong for the pictures. It needs spun 180 degrees. It is heavy. The board alone weighs 53 lbs and the base is at least another 200 lbs-feels more like 250 lbs to me. It has some light rust and needs cleaned up. Most of the board is in good shape but there are 2 gouges in it that are 1" to 1 1/4" down from what should be the top edge. There is an electrical outlet on the one side that accepts 3 plugs. This needs new wiring run to it as the old wiring looks rough. When set with the wood table horizontal the height adjusts from 36 1/2" fully down to 45 1/2" fully up. It also may be tilted 90 degrees. ... moreTilt and height are controlled by the 2 step pedals on the bottom and both the tilt and height stay in place once you set them. The board itself is 1" thick by 60 1/4" long by 38" deep. Counting the metal strips on the bottom it is 40 1/2" deep. The metal table top underneath is 32 1/4" tall by 18 1/4" deep by 48 1/4" long. You'll probably want to hit the top with a sander and recoat it before use. There are a few tack holes but not many. Also you'll want to replace some of the wood screws that hold the top fast to the frame with the next size bigger screw as a couple of the holes are worn some. For sale is a great Hamilton Drafting Table. Dating from the early 20th century it was known as a Hamilton Champion Drawing Table. The top measures 31" x 41 3/4" and the legs are 26" deep. The top is made of white pine with hardwood cleats. There is some old masking tape along the edges. Possibly cut down to this size. The top has pin holes and wear with a little discoloration. The base has the original black paint with appropiate wear. It operates well and lifts from 33" to 41 1/2" Great cast iron star handle and hardware. Here's a vintage E.H. Sheldon drafting table from the 1930's. It is a great candidate for restoration. When I purchased it some years ago it came with some extra pieces shown in the photo. It was made sturdy. As you will see if you google some of the old EH sheldon ads from the'30's. The drawers are dovetailed. The top of one of the drawers has been cracked off, but the piece has been saved and coud easily be glued back on. The rear of the cabinet has a hole in it as seen in the pic. Antique Hamilton Industrial Drafting Table,Cast Iron Legs,Original and Complete
This is a very fine example of an industrial era Hamilton Drafting table from the early 1900's. Manufactured in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. The unit is complete and undamaged, with no broken or missing cast iron pieces. The pine top measures approximately 5 feet across, 39 inches at the widest point and 1 inch thick. The top is solid and undamaged with some ink stains, tape adhesive and pin holes generated over years of use. The table adjustments are original, complete and work properly. The legs and frame are the original black paint, showing the years of patina and normal usage. Antique Mechanical Age Vintage Industrial Cast Iron Drafting Table. I bought this drafting table from a individual who inheriated it from his grandfather who intern recieved it from a dayton Ohio firm when he retired in the early 60's so the story goes. The drafting table does not show any lableing regarding the manufacture but it is clearly an antique. The diminsions: Table Top 60" Long x 36" Wide x 1" Thick. When cranked all the way down with the table top flat it sit approximately 35" above the floor. When cranked all the way up with the table top flat it sit approximately 47" above the floor. To raise and lower the drafting you release the pressure by turning a spicket type handle see picture number 9. Then you turn the wheel see picture 9 and then 11 for close up. Once you have the drafting table at the desired ... moreheight you turn the spicket clockwise to apply pressure to the mechanism to secure the desired height. The drafting table angles approximately 80 degrees in both directions. Again you use a spicket type handel see picture 10 turning counterclockwise which releases the pressure on the drafting table top mechinism then you push or lift the drafting table top to the angle you want and then you turn the spicket handle clockwise to to apply pressure to secure the angle of the drafting table top. ANTIQUE DIETZGEN CAST IRON DRAFTING TABLE INDUSTRIAL AGE STEAMPUNK
A rare Dietzgen drafting table with a cast iron base. Our research shows it is a very early version cast only with a 213 at the base of center posts. The table is height adjustable by turning the crank and tilts by loosing a handle. The treads are not SAE/USS standard which was established in 1906 and based on this. The table is probably dated from this period. This drafting table was found sitting upside down in the loft of my friends old junkyard near Detroit. I went back later and dug up and old drafting light which is included- last picture. The light works but it needs a part on the receptacle end and there is no shroud. But at one time it apparently was mounted on the middle top of the board judging by screw holes. The light does post-date the drafting board though. The 3 foot by 6 foot table top has a lot of patina its 100+ years. ... moreWe decided to leave this original top alone except for a few minor touch-ups with varnish. At some time in the past it had several coats of varnish applied to the table top. The top at three feet wide is narrower than most later tops so its convenient to use as an kitchen island or modern living room. The table has one odd aspect. There is a section of the vertical motion range where the board has to be tilted upright otherwise the curved track ear interferes with the cross shaft of the gear mechanism. A few items were repaired; one thread on a through rod at the base. The crank handle was replaced with a very similar later crank from a vintage milling machine, however the original crank is included. The bottom tubes where people rested their feet were straightened. There is still one tube in the middle that is slightly bent. The cast iron base was repainted in semi-gloss black based on some sections of the original paint. The base and the bottom of the table were painted black many years ago and some of this repaint had chipped off so we decided to go ahead and paint the cast iron base and any iron parts on the table top. Antique SteamPunk Industrial Cast Iron Drafting Table w foot rest 1894 60" Top
This is not only an amazing piece of American Industrial Age history but a usable drafting table. Artists desk. The desk top is 60 inches by 39 inches and has a great catch lip so that if you tilt it for storage you can leave your pens etc. Marked patent March 6, 1894 The base is 26 inches wide. The foot rest is 43 1/2 inches by 5 inches. The foot rest is a really great feature. The height of the table is adjustable by just about eight inches. So where I have the base at 37 inches high I think it is meant to be adjust from about 32 to 40 inches which probably gives you a standard 42 inch table height. This table came to me in this formation from another artist. So if there were other accessories or mechanics I am not aware of what they may have been. Someone had also added a piece of wood well before my time to stabilize the one height clamp ... morebar. I replaced the top screws for ease of adjusting the table top. As you can see it goes from fully flat to an upright position with any angle in between. It stores upright for space saving in a studio. It has obvious signs of age and use by artists, with pin holes, paint marks etc. This is awesome for an 119 year old working artist table. It can be refinished, and the hardware replaced or used as it is. A great piece of furniture for a loft or studio space. I haven't used it in a decade and I need to downsize. ANTIQUE PEDESTAL DRAFTING TABLE. OAK AND IRON, ADJUSTABLE Nice example of this pedestal drafting table. We think it's by Dietzgen. But don't yet find a maker's mark. The original oak top remains. Which is itself hard to find these days. Looks like it was given a black limed-oak finish, which together with the black Japanned cast iron looks pretty sharp. Looks like an artist worked at this table once, there's a bit of dusky blue along the bottom edge. All together, I thought this was a nice'lived in' look for this piece while staying clean& subdued and dark, so I've left it as is, just gave it a good cleaning and waxing. These pedestal drawing tables are absolutely fab. And getting very rare and pricey it seems. They are everything this great era sought to convey; classical solidity, extremely well-crafted classic ... moreforms but with all the ingenuity combined with the cast-iron glory that characterized the Victorian Industrial furnishings. The knobs are awesome, tightens in a bunch of different ways; height up& down, with or without swiveling, tilting, flat, etc. This table is eminently flexible for all kinds of different uses. And looks great in whatever position you choose. It can be lowered and leveled to be a great end table, or raised to be a stand, or tilted to be a great display for art books, prints, or your antique plate volume of Diderot's Encyclopedia. This is an incredible. Completely all original example of an antique industrial"Karl Manufacturing Co" Karlo typewriter display table. Designed and patented by William E Karl and John Vanderveen. Karl Manufacturing Co was based in Grand Rapids MI. The cast iron base retains its original black painted finish. The top also is the original finish. The faucet style handle is used to adjust the tables height and is in working order. Everything about this table is original. The very best part though is the brass tag attached to the base. US Army Defense. The table adjusts from 26 1/2" to 39 1/2" Table top is made of mahogany wood and measures 16' x 16" square. This is an extremely heavy and solid piece. Weighs over 40 lbs unboxed. Antique Cast Iron Wood Adjustable Drafting Table Vintage Steampunk Industrial
Antique Drafting Table An all-original cast iron and wood drawing stand/drafting table. The solid wood top measures 21¼" x 23¼" and tilts up and lies flat. With the table flat the adjustable height is from approximately 23" to 41½" above finished floor. I cannot read what the company name on the label but it was made in Chicago. Everything works well and the condition is good with minor imperfections due to age and wear with minor oxidation and usage marks in the wood. The cast iron is free from chips, breaks or repairs and has some minor paint loss.

The top of the work table has shallow scratches. Other than that, this piece is in good condition and moves freely to tilt. There are two spots on the base that seem to be where a plate or tag of some sort was attached by the manufacturer. One is circular like that used by Frederick Post company, the other is rectangular(please see photos) however I cannot find anywhere indicating the manufacturer, although the style is similar to Post tables. I am unsure of the type of wood, it looks like oak, but the base is a bit darker than the top, unless the top has been refinished at some point. The table top measures approximately 36" X 66" X 2.25" The cast iron legs measure 35" X 24" X 1.75" The part that mounts the legs to the table measures 5" X 5" This table stands approximately 37.5" tall. Up for auction is this Antique Cast iron adjustable drafting/hospital/table base industrial. The top measures 18" by 24" and has metal lips on both sides to keep items on top from sliding off they can also be adjusted down so they are even with top. Cast iron base measures 111/2" at the back and 143/4" at the front and 20 inches long. It has castors on one end that make moving it around easy. The top will adjust from 25" high to 40" high. Antique Oak Slant Top Desk Drafting Railroad Student Work Industrial Table
For sale is a very nice oak desk with slant top and two drawers. It is 5 feet long and is probably early 1900s. These desks are hard to come by. About 2 feet deep. 3 feet 5 inches at the highest point. The legs are bolted on and so can be removed relatively easily. There are a couple of cracks in the legs- one repaired and the other does not need repair. I am not sure of the original intended purpose of this desk. Some describe it as a railroad desk. Also school or teachers desk. Drafting desk. It is great looking. Though. There are two holes in the top for some sort of cylinders, maybe pens or drafting tools. Top locks in any position and side knobs are fully functional. Added bonus feature is the sliding strait edge ruler! The base has one drawer to the right with sliding tray inside. Industrial Age Steam Punk Cast Iron Metal Drafting Table Base Claw Feet
I bought this at an estate sale so it will need greasing and cleaning but a Great Piece for the Drafter or Decorator. Someone had got some tar on 1 of the feet so I scraped it off and took a pic from the bottom so you can tell it is still in tack. I am not sure of the age but I did show 2 number marks in the pics. Vintage Antique Architects Drafting Table with Industrial Cast Iron Base
This Cast Iron Architect’s Table has a 36 in. by 42 in. wood top. The base is 27 ½ in. by 37 in. with an overall length of 43 in. when measured at the handle. The height extends from about 38 in. to 48 in. and the surface can be tilted. About a hundred years old. It is in good sturdy working condition with these signs of wear: The wood top is solid with marks, scuffs, and stains with a very slight warp to the surface. The base has paint loss and a tight crack in the casting that does not affect its function or strength. One locking handle was replaced by a bolt and can be adjusted with a wrench. A foot has a chip on the bottom but is still sturdy. The handle was not painted and may be an early replacement. Please look at the photos for condition and email any questions. This auction is for an authentic antique drafting table from the early 1900's. Used by a city engineer throughout the first half of the 20th century the table has an industrial quality to it. The base is made of solid. Sturdy oak and the top is traditionally made of pine. There are a number of heavy cast iron wing nuts and glides used for adjusting its angle and height. This drafting table is fully adjustable and can be tilted along an approximately 320 degree axis. Antique Drafting Table Industrial Table Keuffel and Essr.
For sale is another one of the best drafting tables I've ever had. There is a tag on the back of the board but I don't think that is the maker of the base although not sure. The top is 22" x 26" and it raises from 31" to 43" It has its original finish to the metal. There is loss of paint but you can still see the pinstriping. It raises up and down with the wheel. The tap screw in the gear works ok but may need to be replaced in the future, very minor. I don't know if the top has been refinished but it has a nice look with some staining. Early 1900's Industrial Age Original Drafting Table Cast Iron Steam Punk
A classic drafting table from the great industrial age of America. This thing is cast iron and thick wood and it weighs a bunch. Top is 60" x 40" and can be raised to 48" high or lowered to 35" height. Top can be tilted to almost straight up& down and has a built in stop at level position. Photos 3 and 4 show the wheels that control tilt and height adjustment. Base is cast iron wtih heavy metal cross braces. Both feet are embossed"The Frederick Post Co Chicago San Francisco" as seen in photo 5. Base has a foot rest board. Top wood has some damage to the corners and hundreds of pin holes from being used that add real character to it. Back has several bracing boards as seen in photo 10-they all look original to me. Years ago I reconditioned one of these for my daughter(artist) and there isn't a day goes ... moreby that her or the granddaughters don't use it for some art or school project-actually sets in the middle of their living room. I think it would make a great dining table or raise it up for a bar also. It is fully functional. The metal parts have some rust but could be repurposed into a neat piece with lots of possibility. Now the interesting part. My wife and I are willing to personally deliver this within a 500 mile radius of Columbus, IN for $100.
