BEAUTIFUL 1920's ITALIAN DEMI LUNE CONSOLE TABLE This is fantastic Demi-lune console table from the 1920's. It is Italian in origin and has a very elegant design and look of finesse about it. It has a lovely curved shape that is typical of the end of the nouveau and start of the Deco era. The table is design to be suspended and there are two brackets with which it can be fixed to the wall. The table top has a walnut veneer which has a fantastic grain running through it. The gold in colour and has been beautifully carved. The amount of work that has gone into this piece is fabulous- it has plenty of intricate detail. This really is a lovely table and would look fantastic in any room- it is probably most suited to a hallway but could equally be used in a dining or living room with a nice mirror above it. Then"my boyfriend" was working construction for a contractor on Long Island for the summer during college that year and when the two of them dug this old table out of a basement there in Rockville Centre, he was lucky enough to have the opportunity to buy it from the owner. He later paid to have it professionally cleaned up including having the top refinished and having a custom table pad made to protect the top as well. For the next 35 years we used this table as our formal family dining table, the centerpiece when celebrating holidays and special events with our three children and many friends over the years. The refinished top is gorgeous and shows off the beautiful walnut wood grains which I attempt to show in my series of photographs. The heavy carved edging and the large turned legs on a split base with bun feet really make for a striking presentation. The mechanism shows this table is designed to spread to a much longer length, perhaps 10-12 feet, if someone were to have leaves remade. This terrific table measures 60 inches long by 45 inches wide. Vintage antique Walnut Folding Serving Table Tray
For your consideration is this vintage antique folding table tray. I think it is Walnut or Mahogany. The table has 2 splayed criss cross stretchers. The tray has curved scalloped corners and pyramid ridged handles. The table measures about 24" tall and 23" x 15" The top of columns have partly indented places where the tray sits. The tray sits on top and is not attached. Nice condition. Pretty patina, sort of in between colors in photos 1& 2( I forgot the flash on the photos except the second picture. for auction is just about the sweetest walnut center table to be found i think anywhere. it has a great concave pedestal that is carved in the finest of fashions with three protruding legs emerging from the pedestal that end with three very neat and unusual claw feet. it has ribbons. Early 1800's coffee table. Measuring about 21 inches tall. Thick. Oval, marble slab is about 33 inches by 2 feet. Beautiful wood base. photos show all with a few markings here and there on the wood and on the old marble. No cracks with some surface"age" spots. Notice a crackle line on the wood bottom center as seen in the photo. This came from a local estate and the owner actually had this cut down into a coffee table. This is a really nice one! It dates from the 1930s and is burl walnut, in the Chippendale style with a Queen Anne pad ... morefoot. It’s a beautiful example of cabinet work from England, with a match burl veneer top, and the cross banded outside edge. When the center back cabriole leg is pulled out, it opens a dovetail drawer compartment for storing your game supplies, and the green felt lined interior top is still all intact. When it’s opened, it is 30 inches round, has 1.5 inches of straight grain walnut all the way around, and all the original brass hardware is intact. The only thing we’ve done is re-spray the top to make the burl walnut jump out. When closed, the table measures 30 inches wide, 15 inches deep, and 29.75 inches tall. When opened it is 30 x 29. This is three pieces of furniture in one: a demi-lune table when it is closed up, a display piece when the flip top is flipped up and leaned against the wall, or a game or card table, or even a dainty brunch table. It’s all original, and the finish on the front shows only minor wear marks here and there.
