There is a domed cutout for a heater vent(cast iron grate) and a fancy cast iron front. The top mantle shelf is serpentine. Use this piece on a wall for accent. Over an existing fireplace, or in your bathroom as a surround for a pedestal sink(my wife does that with one at home) The design possibilities are endless. The front face measures 44 1/2" tall. 44 7/8" wide, and 5 3/8" deep. The shelf is 1 1/4" thick, 49 1/4" wide and 10 7/8" deep. The opening is 33 3/8" high and 24" wide. It is sturdy and in good condition. It has minor wear and shows the adhesive marks and residue on the pieces. The top splash was broken many years ago and then repaired. The entire piece you are seeing here is 66" wide and 68" tall from the ground to the top ball on either corner. I see no detrimental damage to it whatsoever. It's clean and lovely.
