It is in good condition with no damage and the paint is still bright though covered with dust scattered about. The wood and glass frame are intact. No damage to the glass and the wood frame has expected dings and scratches but nothing serious. The cardboard backing has been compromised but is intact. This backing is strengthened with wood top and bottom.There are spots scattered all over the inside of the box as you can see in the photo. May be mildew but doesn't appear to be a threat. These spots may be intentional, I honestly can't tell through the glass. It was part of a major 19th century collection assembled by an American banker. The first head figure is an orange/tan grit. The head supports a bonnet-style head dress. Unique hole-through ear spools can be seen. Slant eyes and abraided nose. That peculiar mouth twist. Or grimace can also be seen here. Label remains on back. The second piece is grey/tan in color. One ear spool can be seen along with slant eyes and oval mouth below nose. Both pieces show good facial detail; these are two of the smaller ones listed. The ancient Chupicuaro devoted their time and skills to creating pottery figurines. And other small artifacts. Characteristically ... moreflat. Chupícuaro human figurines can also be realistically three dimensional or shaped into vessels. They are distinguished by their slanted, coffee-bean shaped eyes. Margaret Brandeis, when she was in California garnering support for her treasure hunting trip for Spanish gold off the coast of Equador. This bird vest measures 31" by 18" It is a unique piece. Beautifully hand crafted on hide with native dyes and beads,nuts etc.It is a used piece,there is some water stains on the left side of the vest. There is a loop on top for placement over the head. I have pinned it to a felt backing in an open deep frame. It will be shipped without the frame. If you want the frame, you must pick it up. Shipping in the frame is cost prohibitive. 21" Antique Nele Nuchu Figure, From Guna Yala Islands (Kuna Yala, San Blas)
I purchased this in the 1980's on one of the islands in Guna Yala. formerly San Blas then Kuna Yala) I was shopping for Mola when I noticed this figure inside the Kuna woman's hut. I didn't know what it was for at the time, it just caught my eye. The Kuna woman said it was not for sale but I pleaded and she relented. Since then I have learned of it's purpose as a Shaman's Nele Nuchu healing figure. Figure wears several different pieces of cloth, including a piece of old mola. Figure also wears several shell/seed/glass bead necklaces. Figure has seed eyes and a piece of silver colored metal nose jewelry. Figure is made from a fairly lightweight wood. The left side of the face is split, it was like that when I purchased it. Split extends down neck to base. Measured at base, split is 2" deep extending to center of wood ... morelog. Figure stands 21" tall and has 14" circumference.

Vintage Mexican Leather Suitcase Antiques All Leather
Vintage Mexican Leather Suitcase. Beautiful antique purchased by my parents in the 1960's trip to Mexico. It's been stored many years and never used for it's original purpose. However there's some wear all around as you can see in the photos. The left side zipper tab is gone but can be moved and the right side zipper is complete but runs with some trouble. Despite this detail. It can be closed. The handle is made of leather as well but it is separated from the suitcase. It is teared off but can be repaired. All metallic parts are rusty but the appearance can be improved in some cases. Judging by the liquid stain inside and outside it looks like if it got wet at one point. The lock is not working and I do not have the key. The suitcase it's completely carved or engraved.
