This is a little wonderful Native American carved scoop or ladle. I believe it to be from the Woodlands tribes. This looks to have been done as a souvenir ... morepossibly. It is dated 1911. The handle looks to say Michigan, and there is a carved Indian, chief and headdress to the bowl. It also has another name above the Indian possibly a town. It measures 5 1/2 inches long. It is very finally carved and thin. It has Intentional nicks to the edges for decorating. I have taken pictures of all angles close up so nothing is hidden. Please ask questions. Buyer will include $11 priority box shipping. Thanks for looking.

Rare 1829 Antique French Native American Indian War New England Bloody Massacre
Rare History Antique 1800's French Native American Indian War New England Puritan Colonists Rebellion Bloody Massacre NO RESERVE Attention antique book collectors and historians alike! I'm very proud to present: The History of Philip's War Commonly Called The Great Indian War of 1675 and 1676. Also. Of the French and Indian Wars at the Eastward in 1689, 1690, 1692, 1696, and 1704 by Thomas Church. Also, an appendix containing an account of the treatment of the natives by the early voyagers, the settlement of New England by the forefathers, the Pequot War, narratives of persons carries into captivity, anecdotes of the Indians, and the most important late Indian wars to the time of the Creek War with numerous notes by Samuel G Drake. King Philip's War refers to the armed and bloody conflict between the native American inhabitants ... moreand the English Colonists of New England at that time. The war was named after Metacomet. The primary leader of the Native American side. The English referred to him as"King Philip" Major Benjamin Church and his men along with their Native American allies eventually hunted down and killed Metacomet. It was one of the most expensive war undertakings during the puritan period. Many, many lives were lost and several towns were completely destroyed. Many others suffered tremendous damage. FYI Benjamin Church also was the captain of the very first Ranger Force in America. The French and Indian Wars refers to several wars that occurred over a period of 74 years on North American soil that were related to wars occurring in Europe around the same time. There was: King William's War. Queen Anne's War, King George's War, and the French and Indian War(also known as the Seven Years War) There's so much more to tell but you'll have to read the book to find out the rest. It's very exciting stuff folks! Now for the flaws: This book is in acceptable- fair condition. Remember. It is over 180 years old. The leather exterior is worn. The original owners'

Antique Native American Beaded Iroquois Mohawk Pincushion Pin Cushion
Gorgeous pin cushion dating from the late 19th or early 20th century with beaded dangling loops on the edges. My research leads me to believe this is a pin cushion of the Iroquois Mohawk tradition. The beaded loops are all intact. Measures about 8.5" x 6.5" No rips or tears. But the fabric could use a professional cleaning and there are some tiny pin holes in the velvet. It is gorgeous! PLEASE READ: All items sold AS-IS. Ask questions early and often- I'm more than happy to answer. Payment within three(3) days or item will be relisted and appropriate feedback left. 1873 Antique OLD WEST Pioneer Tourist GUIDE Native AMERICAN Navajo INDIANS UTAH
THE UNDEVELOPED WEST; OR, FIVE YEARS IN THE TERRITORIES By J. H. Beadle 1873 Subtitle: BEING A COMPLETE HISTORY OF THAT VAST REGION BETWEEN THE MISSISSIPPI AND THE PACIFIC. ITS RESOURCES, CLIMATE, INHABITANTS, NATURAL CURIOSITIES, ETC. ETC. LIFE AND ADVENTURES ON PRAIRIES. MOUNTAINS AND THE PACIFIC COAST. WITH TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY ILLUSTRATIONS. FROM ORIGINAL SKETCHES AND PHOTOGRAPHIC VIEWS OF THE SCENERY, CITIES, LANDS, MINES, PEOPLE, AND CURIOSITIES OF THE GREAT WEST. This work is simply a personal record of my five years’ travel and residence in the new States and Territories– where I went. What I did, what I saw and what I thought about it. Two points. However, of practical interest I have kept steadily in view: to give carefully arranged facts in regard to the lands still open to settlement; and to correct a number of popular errors ... morein regard to soil and climate. The chapters treating specifically on lands in Kansas. Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Dakota, California, Oregon and Texas, it is hoped, will aid in the first object; in regard to the second object, I have pointed out most of the prevailing errors– to call them by no harsher name– found in numerous land circulars and railroad reports. And refuted them by a general statement of facts. It was my prime object to make this work a startling novelty in one respect: by telling the exact truth about the particular points to which settlers are most urgently invited. If my views and conclusions on the Northern Pacific Railroad lands. And some other sections, differ very greatly from the reports of officials and their guests heretofore published, the reader must judge whether the difference is my misfortune or their fault. from the Preface) John Hanson Beadle(1840– 1897) was a journalist and author born in Indiana. ANTIQUE NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN MAPS - MAP-MAKING - WESTERN CARTOGRAPHY
Another America. Native American Maps and the History of Our Land” By Mark Warhus. Published in New York by St. Martin’s Press in 1997. description continues below the picture- DISCUSSION: Another America is the first book to present rare and seldom-seen maps made by Native Americans. These maps. Which lay little known and little studied for the last three hundred years, open a window on the North American continent as it was understood and experienced by its original inhabitants. With meticulous research, this book brings to life the people, the places, and events of this Native American history. Each map is the focal point for a narrative on the traditions and experiences of the people involved with its creation. The historical and cultural context of the maps is used to illuminate the web of human, animal, natural, and spiritual relationships ... morethat shaped the Native American world. The maps record the efficiency of their oral traditions and the fullness with which the land was named, understood, and inhabited. They add a new depth of time to the North American landscape, and are a testament to human endurance and survival” DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 8”x9.5” 242 pages, black& white and color illustrations, dust jacket. Payment would be appreciated within 24 hours after the auction ends. The faster we get payment, the faster we can get the item in the mail for you. We ship to the United States only. Item Description: This auction is for a very old antique carved canoe. It is made out of soapstone. I have shown this to many people and they all have varied opinions on the origins of this item. I have heard anywhere from Native American. Inuit, Columbian, Aborigine, etc. I have shown several people that work at the local museums. None of which ... morehave much of a definite idea of it's origin but most suggest that the age could be between 150 to 300 years old. Again, this is only their opinion. I really do not know much of anything about it but please look at the photos and ask any questions before bidding. It came out of a local estate which had a lot of old interesting items. It measures a little over 8" long. It has some scratches and dings and also some chipped areas. +++ Caution for ebay mobile app users. there is a known glitch in the ebay mobile app that will show free shipping on some auctions that do not have free shipping. Please note that we DO NOT offer free shipping on any of our auctions. We would advise using the normal ebay site through a web browser instead of the app if you plan on bidding on items to make sure you are aware of the shipping costs+++ If the pictures are not showing up you can email me your email address and I can send you some. ANTIQUE AMERICAN INDIAN ART - Peabody Essex Museum Native American folk art
Uncommon Legacies: Native American Art from the Peabody Essex Museum" By John Grimes. Published by the American Federation of Arts& the University of Washington Press in 2002. DISCUSSION: In the glorious period of great sailing ships. New England mariners brought back treasures from far lands. The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA, grew out of the East India Marine Society's desire, in 1799, to protect such'curiosities' in a museum. Later additions, including modern Native American works, have since filled out the collection. This book commemorates the opening of a new permanent gallery for Native American art. Three excellent essays introduce the history of collecting in general, the growth of collections of Native Americana, and the evolution of the Peabody Essex. Another essay on modern Native American art points the ... moreway to the future. Following are 119 glowing plates of the individual objects, with extensive notes on each. Each geographic area represented is defined with a short essay. A good overview of Native American art. DESCRIPTION: Softcover. 9”x12” 272 pages, color and some black& white illustrations. DISCUSSION: Readers of east coast antiques newspapers in the 1980s will probably remember the weekly& monthly ads run by American Indian dealer and collector Charles Derby. A Familiar Face” With a part-Indian grandmother and deep New England roots, derby was attracted to Indian arts from an early age, and had an exciting career as both dealer and collector, which he touches on in his introduction. ANTIQUE CA 1910-1920 AUTHENTIC NATIVE AMERICAN WEDDING BASKET NAVAJO LAKOTA
Here is a large(18" diameter) shallow basket/ bowl/ tray. I acquired this about 25 years ago from a friend. 100% Native American. She was born and raised in a Lakota Sioux community in Nebraska. She told me that this piece was the wedding basket of her Navajo Grandmother who married and moved to Nebraska around 1920. The basket has been hanging on my wall ever since. I am not an expert on Native American Arts, but my friend is. We have worked together at the Santa Fe Indian Market several years, but that's another story. This is all I know about this piece. It is large and in good condition for the age. I would be happy to answer any questions if I can.

Antique Native American Indian Pima Papago or Apache Coiled Bowl Basket C 1900
Well Made. Antique Native American Indian Pima, Papago, or Western Apache Basket This is a beautifully crafted Native American Indian Basket. Tightly and expertly woven. Rare Antique Tintype Of Native American Indian In Corn Husk Costume Circa 1870's
This is a 4" X 2 1/4" tintype dating to circa 1870. The subject is a rare image of a Native American Indian in his corn husk costume. As you can see. We do our best to ensure all items conditions are accurately described and stand behind all of our items 100% Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. Here's something very interesting: an authenticated artifact reproduction of a Native American hunting and warfare spear. Native American spears were a vital part of the history and culture of these indigenous people. They were used primarily for warfare and hunting. The two most important acts in Native American culture. Though bows and arrows, lances, knives, hatchets, and clubs were not uncommon, by far the Native American spear was the weapon ... moreof choice for most tribes. The Certificate of Authenticity states: As Federal Law prohibits the collection or sale of archeological artifacts, present day Native American Indians carefully handcraft artifact replicas. This piece is very stately, with all leather grips, beading, feathers, and a nice metal tip secured by nice leather binding. Shows some small age marks towards the base of the spear. Make sure to take a look at the pictures and ask any questions before bidding. Talk about a conversation piece! This is an awesome part of Native American history. Don't miss out on this one!
