The sword measures 27.5in. overall. With a blade of 18in. The blade shows its age with some dark spots and minor pitting, but nothing terribly distractive. The carved hilt is one piece and octagonal. This beautifully carved Batak figure measures 13-1/8" high. It is in perfect condition. The bowl he holds is designed to hold the spirit of the family and the baby on the figure's head denotes that it is used as a fertility symbol. It was carved by the Batak people of MW Sumatra on Lake Toba. It is made from teak with bone inlaid as eyes. Very nice patina. Although a little dusty.

A nice authentic old sample of Kalasan sword. Horn hilt and wooden scabbard with swassa& silver mounting. Sturdy single edge blade with straight back and slightly curving edge.
