Prints the letters A thru Z, numbers 1 thru 0, characters& C(underlined) O(underlined) period) comma) apostrophe) I do not have any metal tape to test with, but I have tested each letter, number and character with a piece of paper and all are here and in fine shape and emboss the paper fine, and the mechanism that advances the metal tape looks to move fine. This lot includes a print block and what appears to be the matching photo in an Art Deco type frame. The frame measures about 6" tall and appears to be in fine condition although there's rust and wear on the metal edge pieces of the frame. The block measures a little over 3 3/4" tall and is found in used condition. It shows some wear and scratches on the plate. And a good deal of inking on the wood. But I'm not entirely sure) These were from a store called"Newton's Florist" I think this one used to be in Norfolk) The largest stamp measures approx. 7" x 2.5" x 3/4" thick, and the small one: 2" x 1.5" x 3/4" thick. The box these were in were dated 1905(I'm keeping the old box; It's totally torn up anyway, but I have other stamps with it that I'm keeping for myself and want the box with them so that my son can date them one day after I've passed on) This sale is for both the stamps and the 4 impressions shown. Up for auction is an INTERESTING ITEM USED IN THE PRINTING ARTS. a 1949 GAEBEL SCREEN DETERMINER. This was used for counting the number of lines per linear inch of half tone screens used in the printing art. This has a COPYRIGHT DATE of 1949 with PAT. APPLIED FOR. This is a plastic material. Measuring about 5" square. This is in good condition with light surface"scuffing" due to usage. The name of the former owner"Tony" is in very small print on the front. Vintage Antique Letterpress Print Block Printing Plates Circa 1920's A 6" x 3 3/4" Copper Plate With The Image is Mounted on a Thick Wood Base Measuring 3/4" thick x 6 1/4" x 4" Both plates same size different images) Both plates weigh 1 lb 13 ozs. will need to ship for 2/3 lbs. Plates were bought at a Estate Sale in New Bedford. MA I was told these Historical Building are images of actual buildings. Some on the waterfront and others in Historical District areas. Can't verify that. Plates were used to print Post Cards of New Bedford. MA the Whaling City. One print block has no original wrapper and shows little scuffing. The second plate still has its original wrapping with the picture of the Historical Building on the front. This second plate has not been unwrapped.
