This auction is for an old Kelsey Excelsior Mercury Model M. 3 x 5 printing press. The press appears to operate properly and smoothly. I can see that there are some missing pieces like the rollers and one of the roller rods is missing a spring and washer- look at photos- what is seen in the photos is what is included in this auction. The press does suffer from some corrosion- I do not see any cracks or breaks.

Kelsey Excelsior Mercury Model 3x5 Printing Press, Type & Original Accessories
A Kelsey Mercury 3 x 5 Printing Press. Model N. Also includes 3 trays of type and other original accessories. Please see pictures for what is included. The press is in very good original condition. Has some surface rust in various places but nothing serious. It is bolted down to a board that looks like it may have been the original shipping box. I did oil all the shafts and it works smoothly. The can of Kelsey Printoclene is empty. Probably evaporated years ago! The tube of Kelsey Black Ink has ink in it and it is not hard. No guarantee on it however. There are three trays of original type. One large tray and two smaller trays. Someone put tape over the trays so the type would not fall out. I will leave it on. There is also a lot of Point leads some still in original wrapper. The only major thing missing are the rollers but they are available ... moreonline. Obviously these items are very heavy and shipping outside the USA is not possible. I will ship in two separate boxes via UPS Ground: one for the press and the other for everything else. Kelsey Excelsior Mercury Model N 3x5 Letterpress in Unused Condition
This is a like new or unused Kelsey Excelsior Mercury Model N with all of it original finish and no wear marks from use. there is some missing paint- some marks on the back of the ink plate but none where the plate rotation lever contacts the plate. Some handling marks. this machine had tympan paper in it and I found a"press board" from the Kelsey Co. under the paper; no impressions on the paper or on the press board- so someone set this up and for most likely did not use it. No rollers Chase appears factory new with screws appearing unused. no missing paint on handle though some small rust marks(see pic) also. While I had to clean this press off, I did not have to clean the plate where the chase rests(the bed? and the platen and they both still have orange/brown numbers on them from the factory. the ink plate also had something ... morewritten on it in the same crayon, but not realizing I was dealing with a new item, I washed it off with the oil and dust; what I am saying is that this press still has factory control numbers on it and has not been cleaned prior to my getting it. local pickup in zip 11379 is welcome.
