It is 31 inches tall and roughly 10 inches square at the base. It retains its original brass maker's name plate which reads Geo. Damon& Son, New York City. The cabinet is solid wood and in good as-found original condition. It has not been cleaned or waxed. A terrific antique display piece that would go well in either a country or industrial-look decor. This auction is for a very old printing block. It is wood with a metal top for the image/letters. I believe the metal is copper but I do not know that for sure. It has the color of copper and some oxidation so that is why I am leaning that way. It is a butter knife. The block measures 5.5 inches long and 1.5 inches wide to the furthest points and is approx. 1 inch thick.

Primitive Industrial Antique Factory Found Wood Press Great Book or Flower Press So. I'm working my way through an upopened/unlisted box of items from Ohio, where I met a fellow who buys strictly factory demolition items. Wow, did he have some cool stuff. This piece was one of they many items that I purchased. It is clearly an old press of some sort- not sure exactly what sort, but I could see you using it as a book press, a flower press, or, what the heck, just to keep on the porch to keep your newspapers from flying away in the wind when reading them! Made of solid wood, it has a black finished handle that has a ribbed iron hardware piece on the end- almost as if it used to fit into something, The wood has a beveled edge on the top along the perimeter- with the bevels varying depending upon the side. The white spot that you see in photos ... more6& 7 on the handle is remnants of his price tag- it needs to be removed(along with a long piece of cellophane tape wrapped around the handle holding it) and cleaned- I do not clean my items, I leave them as found, and this one is dusty/lightly dirty. It weighs 2 lbs and measures 12" by 8 1/2" at the press and stands 7" tall to the top of the handle. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition, the patina is very dark, and there's lots of wear to both the finish and wood- scratches, scrapes, small chips and nicks, dark spots, light spots, nibbles- you name it, all minor, and more on the bottom of the press then anywhere where you can see evidence of its former use. All that being said, I wouldn't change a thing- it's perfectly primitive and it has a story to tell! Please ask if you have any questions. A terrific vintage industrial cast iron press. Large and in nice condition, the wheel turns to raise and lower the top plate very easily with one finger. The wheel has six spokes and appears hand cast. We see a raised number'5367' on one of the spokes else no other visible markings to indicate maker, a couple of possible places incl. a mark in the very center of the wheel but it's not legible. This is a cast iron book press. I'm not sure of the age. But it's an oldie. It's 18 1/2" long x 10 1/4" wide x 11 1/2" tall. It doesn't have the bottom plate. But it still can be attached to your workbench with long bolts. A bottom plate can easily be made out of a plank of wood, or a piece of metal with machined holes. There is some rust on the bottom of the plate. A small piece of metal has broken off the bottom of one of the vertical arms, and there is a small crack on the bottom of the other one.

Up for auction is a vintage large book binding press. The press is approximately 120 pounds and the overall length is 25" long 14" wide and 16" tall closed. Everything moves freely up and down. Selling as is as found. Not sure what paint is original to the press. It opens up 3-3/4" and the plate size is 18-1/4" x 12" Its used and has some surface rust. This is a HUGE antique commercial industrial book press. The overall measurements of the base are 32 1/2" by 23" And just the press plate which drops down measures 24 5/8" by 21 1/2"capable of doing many books at one time. The second picture above shows it with 6 large hardback books under the press plate, with room for a few smaller books left. The turning wheel/handle measures 15" across. And the press is 19 7/8" tall with the press plate screwed all the way down.much taller when the plate is raised. The wheel handle turns easily and the press works great. Vintage Industrial Antique Cast Iron Book Press Frame Binding Printing
This vintage book press frame is constructed of heavy duty cast iron and with the addition of a base would make a gorgeous antique book press for covering books or even a rustic discussion piece. The turning wheel is 16" in diameter and its corresponding press is 4 1/2" in diameter. There is 9" of variance in the press that measures 22" x 6" x 12" tall at its lowest configuration. There are two bolts complete with screws on each end of the frame and there are 4 mounting holes on the press. This is a vintage item that is worn but in good condition as pictured. For sale is an amazing solid Antique Cast Iron and Brass Book Press Industrial Binding Machine Office. The gold you see in the pictures appears to be gold paint. I did not clean it because its patina adds to its great look. I will not ship sadly. I did it once before on a nice press and the outcome was catastrophic. Most mailmen and mail-women and UPS drivers are not strong enough to lift this. It estimate it is 85-100 pounds. It freely moves up and down. I think the balls on the end of the crank is brass. The item that you are purchasing is an Antique Heavy Cast Iron Book Binding Press. With a very nice design to it, with a nice embossed letter"G" on the front, smooth up and down motion of the tool when turned, but the major detail is that it is broken off from the plate, this needs to be fixed and put back together to get back to original working order to be able to raise the plate. Some rusting on the underside and on the plate usual with age. Light Rusting in other areas as well as scratching and wear, usual wear and age for an antique cast iron piece! This is a great historical item! The dimensions of the plate are as follows, 31.25 cm across and 25 cm in depth from front to back. This is an excellent piece! It will be shipped through UPS!
