The bottom surface is polished steel. There was a clear or glass covering, 9" x 16-3/4" over the empty center area, to write on. The long scoop across the lower edge of the bakelite frame held a roll of paper. The paper fed between a galvanized plate and the Speed-O-Scope logo at the top, as illustrated in an old advertisement. It came with a regular, but odd-shaped light bulb, writing tool, triangle, stylus, and T-square, according to one source. Ours was used at a family business, possibly for letterings prices on large items, or in setting up advertising brochures. The more expensive model, with light built in, sold last month for $149.00 on eBay.

Scarce Antique Cast Iron& Rubber TESTRITE Printers Printing Roller Made in New York Great printer's roller with lots of character and I nice piece of printing history. Looking great even as an industrial paperweight. But ready for your printing. Measuring 8 1/2" inches wide and 7" inches from rubber roller to end of handle. Complete and working great. Rubber roller is perfect with no cracks or dents, and ball bearings very nice are running super smooth. Finish is really nice with only a little damage on paint on handle and a few small spots of yellow spots as seen in photos. And just a a little minor corrosion on metal bar brace. But it resembles pictures of a part of a printing machine that rolls the paper out slowly. If you can help us identify this item, please contact us. Rustic Primitive Antique Roller Rolling Pin For Print Type Printing Iron Frame Well. I am back from a monster shopping trip to the World’s Longest Yard Sale– we shop Ohio every year and then stop at some of my favorite spots in Indiana to buy from. Spent 2 whole days taking photos and still not done– I have a LOT and I’ll be listing for weeks. There’s something for everyone- primitive antiques, ephemera, military, railroad, industrial, farm finds– you name it, I have it and it’s all unique– you’ll want to keep checking, as I will list every day. Enjoy! This one is really neat. It's an old primitive antique print roller. Made for rolling ink in the process of printing. It has an iron frame with a single leg in the center that the handle stands on for when not in use, and the roller, I THINK that it's rubber- it's slightly squishy, ... moreand feels like it, but it's so hard to tell for sure as the roller is soooooooooo rustic and used. It still holds strong on the frame, though, and it also still rolls- although I have to say it's quite a bumpy roll! It's rustic, with lots of cracks, and bumps, and dried ink, and a white patina in the center. It's chippy, too- it looks wet on the edges, but it's not, it's totally dry. Of course, I'm selling it as a decorative collectible, not for use! The piece measures 7 1/4" widest at the frame holding the roller and 8 3/4" long from the roller to the end of the handle. The roller is 5 3/4" long by 1 3/4" diameter. It weighs just over 1 1/2 lbs, so it's pretty hefty for its size. The iron frame is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. You can see that it used to have a black finish which is mostly worn. It has spots of surface rust all over- it's surface only. There's some white spots on it that are plapable- and you can chip them off- I just rubbed my finger nail over one, and it came off. It's dirty, and needs a good cleaning- I have not cleaned or messed with the as found patina in any way other than accid

Large Antique Cast Iron Printing Press With Kesley Roller 8 X 10
This Antique Large Printing Press is in overall good condition. The gentleman I purchased this from told me his wife use to use this press about 50 years ago. I am not sure who the maker is but I believe it to be a Kesley. There is a Kesley print roller that came with the machine when I got it. This is a very heavy press and weighs over 100 pounds. The Lever works pushing the press toward the plate. I am not exactly sure how it is suppose to operate. It will be shipped VIA UPS Ground and will be well packed for shipping.
