For sale are 8 very cool reverse printing plate for newspapers or magazines. I don't know much about these. So correct me if I am wrong in my description. They measures about 4.5" by 1.5" and other assorted sizes. A wood block with a metal stamp on top. One features trees and the word"Lumber" one has a ladies picture. For sale as a lot: 2 Printing Press Block/Newspaper Printing Plates with 2 different George Washington Era Images. The overall dimensions are approximately 4" long by 3 1/4" wide and 15/16" thick for the larger one and 3" long by 2 1/4" wide and 7/8" thick for the smaller of the two. These have just been displayed on a shelf for 25+ years. Bought them at an antique shop in 1988. My husband use to collect Americana and related items. Condition. I believe, is good. Lot of 6 Newspaper Printing Plates Columbia Quarry St. Louis, MO Engravers Metal
For sale is a set of 6 newspaper plates. Each plate is a variant advertisement for Columbia Quarry. Washington Avenue, St. Louis, MO. They are made of photo engraver's metal and are marked so on the back. Each plate measures approximately 4 1/8" x 4" but each varies a little due to the different ads. As a St. Louis resident I can't imagine an operational quarry in downtown St. Louis so these may be old. Most of the plates are in good shape but one does have white paint residue on it.
