Vintage Superior Ink Printing Stamping Wooden Blocks in original wooden case. There are 85 wooden stamps total. The complete alphabet. Upper and lower case, numbers and lots of symbols, even a finger pointing the way. The wooden case measures 20" x 9" x 2" has dovetailed joints, and hinges and latches are metal. The stamping pad is dried up(of coarse) and the tiny ink bottle is empty. Very cool old piece that you could very well use if you wanted to print the old fashioned way! This is an Antique"make your own stamp" or easy copy a 4 line text could be still usable today with some ink. Dating back to the very early 1900's this German typeset is about complete with 2 stamps& the Pincer. It was easy transportable and I suspect it was used during the first World War. It comes in the original Tin box that opens threefold giving easy access to the ink pat and letters. The letter drawer is removable. The tin box measures about 7 x 3.1/2" or 18 x 9 cm. Offered is an antique. Very Good Condition book with vivid colors and an original hardbound cloth covered edition of the PRINTING INK SPECIMENS by FRED'K H. LEVEY COMPANY, NY. 45 pages. 35 of which are color charts. Approximately 9 1/4 inches by 6 1/8 inches by 1/2 inch thick. Although not obviously found nor stated in this book. An early 1900 or prior copyright date feels right. Levey Printing Ink Company was established in 1874. There is a price chart within the book. The Front and back cover has some fading and light soil and minimal corner deterioration. It is a dark brown cover with an ornate orange and black design front cover with title. There are no holes nor tears nor scratches on the cover. There is slight age discoloration on pages. And a few finger prints soil noticeable on the inside blank cover page and back. Colors very ... morevivid and there is a tight binding with no corner folds nor hand writing in text. Clean pages. Edges of pages have slight but some soil. Very good condition book. In addition to 35 pages of color. There is a Section on Art of Mixing Colors, Printing in Colors, Opening Ink Tubes, Pricing listed for newspaper inks, book job, cut inks, all colors of inks and types. Per parts of the introduction"To Printers and Publishers" this book has'specimens' of leading inks manufactured by the Levey Company that are used by printers.
